  • Publication number: 20020189287
Abstract: A control for a glass forming machine. Each machine mechanism, etc., is turned “on” and “off” at selected angles around a wrapped 360° machine cycle. The control unwraps the “on” and “off” angles around the wrapped 360° machine cycle to “on” and “off” times along an unwrapped bottle forming process which takes more than two machine cycles to complete and the unwrapped schedule is analyzed to determine whether an optimized schedule is possible and once a schedule is optimized, the analysis is done again with all the optimized values locked except one or more of the motion durations which are targeted at their maximum duration. This second optimization defines the motion durations at their longest possible setting so that the associated motor(s) can be concomitantly slowed down to minimize wear.

  • Publication number: 20020189294
Abstract: A machine cycle unwrapper for use with a glass forming machine which is controlled by a programmable sequencer which defines a 360° machine cycle having a set cycle time. The cycle unwrapper converts the “on” and “off” angles around the wrapped 360° programmable sequencer to “on” and “off” times along an unwrapped bottle forming process which takes more then two machine cycles to complete.

  • Publication number: 20020162557
Abstract: The present invention relates to an endotracheal intubation device that will allow visualization of the airway of a patient during intubation simultaneous with suctioning ability to remove debris in the airway. The endotracheal intubation device includes a light source disposed to shine proximal to the distal end of an endotracheal tube and means for connection to a suction source. The light source may be built into the endotracheal tube or may consist of a lighted sleeve encasing a suction trocar. The light source may be disposed to shine axially or radially from the proximal end to the distal end of an endotracheal tube and may be fiberoptic or chemiluminescent in nature. The shape of the endotracheal tube may be adjusted either by use of a malleable suction trocar made out of a malleable material such as aluminum or by inclusion of a malleable wire within the tube.

  • Patent number: 6443328
Abstract: A device for delivering a preset volume of fluid, such as oil, includes a casing (10) with an inlet port (16), an outlet port (17) and supply passages (22, 24) for flow of fluid from the inlet port (16) to the outlet port (17). A valve including a valve member (24) is situated to control the flow of the fluid through a valve chamber (23). The valve is manually actuated to an open position and held by momentary energization of a latching solenoid (36). When the fluid volume reaches a preset volume, the latching solenoid (36) is energized again to allow the release the valve member (24) to return to a closed position. In the event of a battery low condition, the latching solenoid (36) can be disabled, so that the valve can only be held open manually, thereby preventing an electrical failure with the valve open. A manual push button (21) is directly connected to the valve member (24) for closing the valve manually. A method for controlling the dispensing of a fluid is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6295697
Abstract: A wall door stop includes a pin extending from the wall-facing surface. When installed on a wall exterior, the wall door stop may be attached by a regular or security screw to the wall. The pin engages a mating hole in the wall and inhibits unauthorized removal of the wall door stop through rotation and simultaneous pulling of the decorative ring. The pin engages the wall to prevent rotation of the decorative ring.

  • Patent number: 6288528
Abstract: There is provided a method and system for evaluating a condition of a surface of a combustion vessel exposed to deposition thereon of a material released during a combustion of a fuel in the combustion vessel during a combustion process. The method preferably comprises the steps of imposing a current on an electrical network arranged relative to the combustion vessel and having at least one electrode and thereafter detecting at least one characteristic of the electrical network during the step of imposing a current on the electrical network. The method further includes the step of evaluating a condition of the deposition exposed surface based upon the at least one detected characteristic of the electrical network.

  • Patent number: 6263675
Abstract: A method of operating a power generation system is provided. The system includes) a turbine, a regenerative heat exchanger, a vapor generator and a distiller/condenser having multiple condensing elements. The turbine expands a vaporized multicomponent working fluid to produce power. The regenerative heat exchanger transfers heat from a lean hot multicomponent working fluid having a relatively low concentration of a component of the multicomponent working fluid to a rich cool multicomponent working fluid having a relatively high concentration of the component to thereby cool the lean hot multicomponent working fluid. The vapor generator vaporizes the cooled multicomponent working fluid to form the vaporized multicomponent working fluid. The multiple condensing elements of the distiller/condenser condense the expanded multicomponent working fluid to form the lean hot multicomponent working fluid.

  • Patent number: 6243427
Abstract: A one-way and two-way multichannel radio frequency transmission system and method employing a sectorized broadcasting technique is described. The system and method reduces the effective bandwidth of the broadcast signal by multiplexing available channels of signals into a set of formatted independent digital bitstreams—where each of the bitstreams includes all or a portion of the available channels provided by the system program provider. The independent bitstreams are transmitted to transmitting towers using point-to-point transmission methods. The transmitting towers phase modulate and amplify the bitstreams to generate a set of independent modulated signals. Each transmitter tower includes an antenna for broadcasting the modulated signals to a sectorized service area each sector in the service area receiving a different one of the set of independent modulated signals. The antenna includes a set of individual antenna panels each panel for broadcasting one of the set of modulated signals.

  • Patent number: 6195998
Abstract: A method of operating a Kalina cycle power generation system includes directing a stream of vaporized binary working fluid to a turbine where it is expanded to produce power. At least a portion of the expanded binary working fluid is directed to a regenerative heat exchanger where it is transformed into a feed binary working fluid. The feed binary working fluid is directed to a vapor generator where it is vaporized. The binary working fluid flow within the regenerative heat exchanger is actively regulated to balance the expanded binary working fluid and the feed working fluid.
