  • Patent number: 12171159
Abstract: Autonomous vehicle navigation is disclosed. A tangible computer readable medium includes instructions which, when executed cause a machine to divide an image of an area being approached by a lawn mower into a grid of separate image sections. Each of the image sections corresponds to a respective portion of the area being approached. For each of the image sections in the grid, the instructions, when executed, cause the machine to calculate, using an image recognition algorithm, a percentage of the image section categorized as corresponding with unmowable material and assign a result value based on a comparison between the calculated percentage and one or more movement thresholds. The instructions, when executed, also cause the machine to instruct a drive system to control movement of the lawn mower based on an arrangement of result values in the grid of the image sections.

  • Patent number: 12176094
Abstract: A noninvasive patient-specific method is provided to aid in the analysis, diagnosis, prediction or treatment of hemodynamics of the cardiovascular system of a patient. Coronary blood flow and pressure can be predicted using a 3-D patient image-based model that is implicitly coupled with a model of at least a portion of the remaining cardiovascular system. The 3-D patient image-based model includes at least a portion of the thoracic aorta and epicardial coronaries of the patient. The shape of one or more velocity profiles at the interface of the models is enforced to control complex flow features of recirculating or retrograde flow thereby minimizing model instabilities and resulting in patient-specific predictions of coronary flow rate and pressure. The invention allows for patient-specific predictions of the effect of different or varying physiological states and hemodynamic benefits of coronary medical interventions, percutaneous coronary interventions and surgical therapies.

  • Patent number: 12172317
Abstract: A robot is provided having a kinematic chain comprising a plurality of joints and links, including a root joint connected to a robot pedestal, and at least one end effector. A plurality of actuators are fixedly mounted on the robot pedestal. A plurality of tendons is connected to a corresponding plurality of actuation points on the kinematic chain and to actuators in the plurality of actuators, arranged to translate actuator position and force to actuation points for tendon-driven joints on the kinematic chain with losses in precision due to variability of tendons in the plurality of tendons. A controller operates the kinematic chain to perform a task. The controller is configured to generate actuator command data in dependence on the actuator states and image data in a manner that compensates for the losses in precision in the tendon-driven mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 12171426
Abstract: A buttress is applied to an end effector of a surgical stapler. The buttress is loaded on a platform of a buttress applier cartridge. The end effector is closed upon the platform. An adhesive layer of the buttress secures the buttress to the end effector. The buttress is thus adhered to the end effector when the end effector is opened. The end effector is then actuated on tissue of a patient, thereby stapling the buttress to the tissue.
