Patent number: 12178010Abstract: A liquid-cooled printed circuit board chassis, such as a Eurocard chassis, is manufactured without brazing by 3D printing a plurality of components, smoothing and completing the components by subtractive manufacture, and then aligning and assembling the final chassis, all without application of heat. Horizontal cooling channels 3D printed within the chassis components are in thermal contact with board slots, and are divided into subchannels by closely spaced internal walls that function as thermal baffles. The baffles are tilted at oblique angles to increase their cooling efficiency, and to enable AM manufacture without temporary support structures. Elastomer seals between components can connect the cooling channels to vertical connecting channels. EMI seals can be formed between the components by EMI gaskets. The components can be aligned by alignment pins, and joined together by bolts, screws, and/or adhesives.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2023Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: Richard E. Patent number: 12175881Abstract: Disclosed is a braille display that is impact resistant and that employs a modular construction. The impact resistance is achieved, in part, by molded and resilient end caps. Each end cap includes a centrally positioned slit that functions in absorbing lateral impacts to the display. The impact resistance is further achieved by an over molded housing that is positioned about an associated USB connector. The modularity of the display is achieved by way of a subassembly that is releasably secured within the interior of a main housing. The subassembly, in turn, includes a series of cell compartments that are arranged in groups. Each group of cell compartments is controlled by an individual shift register. This allows a grouping cell compartments to be removed and replaced as needed without disturbing the remaining cell components.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2023Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: Freedom Scientific, Inc.Inventors: Patrick Murphy, Todd Conard, Bradley S. Patent number: 12175422Abstract: Examples provides on-hand inventory accuracy using radio frequency identification (RFID) tag data and expected populations of items for a plurality of sub-locations within a scan area. The system calculates a dynamic expected population of items value for each sub-location using item level data and modular display data for an item assortment assigned to a modular display within each sub-location. If the items detected by the RFID tag data match the expected population of items with a minimum confidence level, the system provides user feedback in the form of status indicators and/or accuracy indicators on a user interface. The feedback can also include audio feedback. If a discrepancy is detected, the system requests a rescan of each sub-location having a detected discrepancy. The system disallows update of on-hand inventory data using the RFID tag data if the discrepancy remains unresolved after the second scan and/or requests a manual verification.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2022Date of Patent: December 24, 2024Assignee: Walmart Apollo, LLCInventors: Sara Vaught, Hoang-Anh Au, Christopher Ryan Heeney, Marc Fletter, Jeffrey S. Patent number: 12176942Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are presented to transmit fragmented communication frames, such as fragmented ultra-wideband (UWB) frames. In some implementations, a communication frame may be divided into a plurality of fragments, and the fragments may be transmitted across a plurality of regulatory test intervals. E.g., each fragment may be transmitted within a mutually-exclusive regulatory test interval. In some implementations, each fragment may be constrained in time and/or transmission power, such that the total energy emitted during transmission of the fragment remains within a maximum energy limit defined for the regulatory test interval, e.g., by a regulatory entity.
