  • Publication number: 20240418283
Abstract: A gate valve comprises a valve body including a cavity and a flow bore with a flow axis. A gate in the cavity is movable along a stem axis between an open and closed position. A first seat is in a first pocket of the body on one side of the gate. An upstream seal is disposed between upstream opposing faces of the first seat and the first pocket, these upstream opposing faces being parallel to the bore axis, and the upstream seal is configured to prevent fluid moving axially from the flow bore toward the gate. A downstream seal is disposed between downstream opposing faces of the first seat and the first pocket, these downstream opposing faces being perpendicular to the bore axis, and the downstream seal is configured to prevent fluid moving from the cavity toward the flow bore in a direction perpendicular to the bore axis.

  • Publication number: 20240417772
Abstract: An optical measurement instrument is an integrated instrument that includes an optical cavity with a light source, a sample cuvette, and an optical sensor. The instrument can be used for taking measurements of organism concentration in one or more samples. Preferably, the instrument holds multiple, individually-loaded, independent fluid samples and determines bacteria concentration via a forward-scattering signal. The instrument can incorporate onboard incubation to promote bacterial growth in the samples such that, once a certain bacterial concentration is achieved, the higher concentration sample can be used with a mass spectrometer to identify the type of bacteria. The instrument and mass spectrometer can be a part of a network for medical diagnostic testing data where data is stored in a manner that is inherently untainted by patient identifiable information.

  • Publication number: 20240418113
Abstract: An aftertreatment system for treating exhaust gas includes: an exhaust conduit configured to receive the exhaust gas; a preheating oxidation catalyst disposed in the exhaust conduit; a primary oxidation catalyst disposed in the exhaust conduit downstream of the preheating oxidation catalyst; a selective catalytic reduction system disposed in the exhaust conduit downstream of the primary oxidation catalyst; and a controller configured to: determine a temperature of the exhaust gas at an inlet of the selective catalytic reduction system, and in response to the temperature of the exhaust gas at the inlet of the selective catalytic reduction system being below a threshold temperature, cause hydrocarbons to be provided to the preheating oxidation catalyst or to the exhaust conduit at a location upstream of the preheating oxidation catalyst. The preheating oxidation catalyst catalyzes combustion of the hydrocarbons so as to increase the temperature of the exhaust gas to above the threshold temperature.

  • Publication number: 20240419292
Abstract: Dynamically resizable UI views for electronic devices are disclosed. The dynamically resizable UI views may be UI views for widgets. In one or more implementations, an application provides, to a system process, multiple states for a user interface (UI) view for the application, and one or more transition definitions each defining a transition between two of the multiple states. When a user, or content of the UI view, triggers a change from one of the multiples states to another of the multiple states of the UI view, the system process may animate the change according to the one or more transition definitions. In one or more implementations, an application provides system animated transitions between application UI States, and provides application data to be displayed in the rendered UI view.

  • Publication number: 20240422101
Abstract: Condition-based, selective workload reduction through at least one port of a network device is provided. The process includes determining, by a network device of a computing environment, that the network device has a defined condition, and obtaining, by the network device, classifications of applications using the network device, where the classifications include multiple different application classifications. Further, the process includes reducing, by the network device, workload through at least one port of the network device based on determining that the network device has the defined condition. The reducing includes reducing workload through the at least one port of the network device of an application of a particular application classification of the multiple different application classifications, without reducing workload through a selected port of the network device of another application of a different application classification of the multiple different application classifications.

  • Publication number: 20240415370
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses provide improved navigation through tubular networks such as lung airways by providing improved estimation of location and orientation information of a medical instrument (e.g., an endoscope) within the tubular network. Various input data such as image data, EM data, and robot data are used by different algorithms to estimate the state of the medical instrument, and the state information is used to locate a specific site within a tubular network and/or to determine navigation information for what positions/orientations the medical instrument should travel through to arrive at the specific site. Probability distributions together with confidence values are generated corresponding to different algorithms are used to determine the medical instrument's estimated state.

  • Publication number: 20240420562
Abstract: Supervisory signals from a first wireless security sensor are received at a first supervisory rate that repeatedly confirms that the first wireless security sensor remains operatively coupled to a security system controller. A first security sensor alarm is received from the first wireless security sensor and in response, the first supervisory rate is changed to a second, higher, supervisory rate. Supervisory signals are received from the first wireless security sensor at the second supervisory rate that repeatedly confirms that the first wireless security sensor remains operatively coupled to the security system controller. When a second security sensor alarm is received from the first wireless security sensor within a predetermined period of time after the first security sensor alarm, an alarm condition detection alarm is issued from the security system controller.

  • Publication number: 20240422108
Abstract: Systems, methods and devices provide efficient bandwidth allocation on a satellite, mobile telephone or other data connection by allowing nodes to share bandwidth for commonly-requested data. A transmission center, uplink or other gateway suitably recognizes when content requests from multiple different nodes are simultaneously requesting delivery of the same content. When the same content is recognized, the gateway device allocates shared bandwidth on the data transmission link for the requested content that is accessible to both the first and second nodes.

Said single piston air disc brake comprises a caliper (14); a piston (6); a carrier (5); an inboard pad (1); and an outboard pad (2). A centreline line (12) of both the inboard pad (1) and the outboard pad (2) are offset towards a leading side (15) of the carrier (5) for a predefined distance from the centreline (11) of the piston (6). The inboard leading abutment (10) and the outboard leading abutment (8) are configured as thinner than the inboard trailing abutment (13) and the outboard trailing abutment (9), respectively. The thickness of first back plate (1a) of the inboard pad (1) is configured as about 1.5 times to 2 times thicker than the thickness of the second back plate (2a) of the outboard pad (2). The disclosed single piston air disc brake is configured to reduce the taper wear of brake pads, thereby increases the life of the brake pads.

  • Publication number: 20240422024
Abstract: A multi-port Ethernet fiber switch converts the TDD to OD and then provides the OD to multi-port Ethernet fiber switch ports for transmission on optical lines connected to the multi-port Ethernet fiber switch ports. The OD on the multiple optical lines is then transmitted to multiple integrated converter/receiver in-wall mounted data access stations through the multiple optical lines. Each integrated converter/receiver in-wall mounted data access station includes an integrated OD to TDD converter/receiver that is positioned in a cavity in the wall in which the integrated converter/receiver in-wall mounted data access station resides.
