  • Publication number: 20240291590
Abstract: An unsafe frequency report from a client device is received, the unsafe frequency report indicating that the client device is experiencing interference on a set of frequencies. A set of safe frequencies is identified, for the client device, based on interference indicated in the unsafe frequency report, and dynamic puncturing is performed based on the unsafe frequency report, comprising identifying an allocation of wireless resources for the client device during a transmission opportunity based on the set of safe frequencies, where the allocation of wireless resources punctures one or more of the set of frequencies, and communicating with the client device using the allocation of wireless resources.

  • Publication number: 20240285026
Abstract: A golf shoe with a sole assembly having a sidewall reinforcement structure is provided. The reinforcement structure may be formed from a carbon composite or other reinforcing material. The reinforcement structure is molded into the sole assembly for reinforcing softer midsole sidewalls, and for providing increased stability and maintaining forefoot flexibility. The structure is generally U-shaped with a medial and lateral side wing and a bridge connecting the wings. The medial wing may be angled rearward to support the rearfoot, and the lateral wing may be angled forward to support the midfoot. Thus, the reinforcement structure may hold and support the medial and lateral sides of the golfer's foot as they shift their weight while making a golf shot. At the same time, the shoe has good flexibility so the golfer is able to walk and play the course and engage in other golf activities comfortably.

  • Publication number: 20240288424
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for labeling biological particles using acoustophoresis. In a washing stage, two adjacent substreams are passed through a region having a gradient in acoustic energy density, leading to particles being driven from one substream to the other. Washed bioparticles flowing in a medium are accumulated at a trapping site by an acoustic energy barrier while the medium passes by. Accumulated particles are discharged in batches and mixed with labeling particles. The mixture is incubated in a chamber, producing labeled biological particles, which are washed in another washing stage. Processing operations are automated e.g. on a microfluidics platform. Diagnostic and therapeutic applications are disclosed, covering a range of particle types and a range of labeling types. Exemplary biological particles include cells, antibodies, or fragments thereof.

  • Publication number: 20240285401
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve including an annular frame and one or more detachable outer skirts and methods associated therewith. The frame has one or more outer skirts releasbly attached to an exterior surface of the frame. In some examples, an outer skirt is attached to the frame via at least one retaining suture formed by stitches looped around a pull suture and struts of the frame. Portions of the outer skirt are captured between the pull suture and the exterior surface of the frame along a suture line. Removal of the pull suture from the suture line enables the outer skirt and frame to separate as the stitches are pulled through openings in the outer skirt. In some examples, outer skirts can be releasably attached to the frame via bioresorbable couplers. Removability of the outer skirts can facilitate improvements in implant and explant procedures of the prosthetic valves.

  • Publication number: 20240289085
Abstract: A system can include head-mounted devices that collaborate to process views from cameras of the respective head-mounted devices and identify objects from different perspectives and/or objects that are within the view of only one of the head-mounted devices. Sharing sensory input between multiple head-mounted devices can complement and enhance individual units by interpreting and reconstructing objects, surfaces, and/or an external environment with perceptive data from multiple angles and positions, which also reduces occlusions and inaccuracies. As more detailed information is available at a specific moment in time, the speed and accuracy of object recognition, hand and body tracking, surface mapping, and/or digital reconstruction can be improved. Such collaboration can provide more effective and efficient mapping of space, surfaces, objects, gestures and users.

  • Publication number: 20240286180
Abstract: Porous media containing undesired substances, e.g., perfluoroalkylated substances, are treated by mixing the porous media with a solid fuel comprising organic material. The mixture is heated to 200° C. to 400° C. to initiate smoldering combustion and an oxidizer gas is forced through the heated mixture such that the smoldering combustion is self-sustaining until the mixture reaches a PFAS destructive temperature and the perfluoroalkylated substances are thermally destroyed. A system is provided for conducting the treatment. The system includes a source of wax, wood chips, sawdust, tire scraps, waste rubber compounds, coal, granular activated carbon, solid fat, and combinations thereof as solid fuel. A mixer is provided for mixing the porous media with the solid fuel. An ignition system including static heating elements and a gas blower are provided for forcing heated oxidizer gas through the mixture such that self-sustaining smoldering combustion of the mixture is initiated and sustained.
