  • Publication number: 20240286180
Abstract: Porous media containing undesired substances, e.g., perfluoroalkylated substances, are treated by mixing the porous media with a solid fuel comprising organic material. The mixture is heated to 200° C. to 400° C. to initiate smoldering combustion and an oxidizer gas is forced through the heated mixture such that the smoldering combustion is self-sustaining until the mixture reaches a PFAS destructive temperature and the perfluoroalkylated substances are thermally destroyed. A system is provided for conducting the treatment. The system includes a source of wax, wood chips, sawdust, tire scraps, waste rubber compounds, coal, granular activated carbon, solid fat, and combinations thereof as solid fuel. A mixer is provided for mixing the porous media with the solid fuel. An ignition system including static heating elements and a gas blower are provided for forcing heated oxidizer gas through the mixture such that self-sustaining smoldering combustion of the mixture is initiated and sustained.

  • Publication number: 20240291470
Abstract: A circuit receives an input clock pulse signal characterized by a first frequency and a first pulse width, and produces an output pulse signal characterized by a second frequency that is half of the first frequency and a second pulse width that is equal to the first pulse width. The circuit also includes a first D-flipflop, a first inverter, a first Schmitt trigger, and a first AND gate. The first D-flipflop includes a clock input terminal for receiving the input clock pulse signal and an output terminal for producing a first data output. The first inverter couples the output terminal and a data input terminal of the first D-flipflop. A first Schmitt trigger receives the input clock pulse signal and provides a first delayed input clock signal. The first AND gate receives the first data output and the first delayed input clock signal, and provides the output pulse signal.

  • Publication number: 20240290789
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for achieving multiple fin dimensions on a single die or semiconductor substrate. In some cases, multiple fin dimensions are achieved by lithographically defining (e.g., hardmasking and patterning) areas to be trimmed using a trim etch process, leaving the remainder of the die unaffected. In some such cases, the trim etch is performed on only the channel regions of the fins, when such channel regions are re-exposed during a replacement gate process. The trim etch may narrow the width of the fins being trimmed (or just the channel region of such fins) by 2-6 nm, for example. Alternatively, or in addition, the trim may reduce the height of the fins. The techniques can include any number of patterning and trimming processes to enable a variety of fin dimensions and/or fin channel dimensions on a given die, which may be useful for integrated circuit and system-on-chip (SOC) applications.

  • Publication number: 20240290405
Abstract: For a nonvolatile (NV) storage media such as NAND (not AND) media that is written by a program and program verify operation, the system can apply a smart prologue operation. A smart prologue operation can selectively apply a standard program prologue, to compute program parameters for a target subblock. The smart prologue operation can selectively apply an accelerated program prologue, applying a previously-computed program parameter for a subsequent subblock of a same block of the NV storage media. Application of a prior program parameter can reduce the need to compute program parameters for the other subblocks.

  • Publication number: 20240292371
Abstract: An apparatus and system of paging using paging early indication (PEI) and subgrouping are described. A fifth generation nodeB (gNB) checks paging information of a UE from a limited paging container of the UE provided from the core network to determine whether PEI/subgrouping information is present. The limited paging container contains paging information of the UE that is provided in the UE capability and is used by a previous gNB. If the paging information of the UE does not indicate the ability of the UE to use PEI and/or subgrouping, the gNB checks the information in the UE capability; if the paging information and the UE capability conflict, the gNB signals the UE to monitor for PEI/Subgrouping. The gNB updates the paging capability with PEI and/or subgrouping support before the UE enters idle mode or inactive state and sends the update to the core network.
