    Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for estimating a real-world size of an object included in an input scene. The technique includes identifying one or more depictions of human faces included in a two-dimensional input scene and generating one or more bounding boxes associated with the input scene, where each bounding box represents a head size associated with a different one of the one or more depictions of human faces. The technique also includes calculating a relative depth value for each of one or more pixels included in the input scene. The technique further includes calculating an average relative head size based on the one or more bounding boxes and relative depth values associated with the one or more pixels and generating a depth scale based on the average relative head size and a known real-world dimension of an average human head.

    Abstract: A method for an audiovisual receiver to request an audiovisual transmitter to reset a communication link includes requesting the reset when the audiovisual receiver determines that the communication link is unlocked. The communication is determined to be unlocked when the active geometry of successive audiovisual frames transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver is determined by the receiver to be inconsistent. The communication is also determined to be unlocked when the interval between control bits of the successive audiovisual frames is inconsistent. When one or both of the inconsistencies is determined, the receiver sets an error bit in a register of the receiver that is accessible by the transmitter to determine from the receiver that the communication link is unlocked.

The first score and second score may be merged to produce a third score for the frame. A plurality of scores may be determined, respectively, for frames of the video content, and a maximum score may be selected. Based on measurements from a pressure sensor within a wellhead of the well, it is determined that a pressure within the production tubing string at the surface has decreased over the specified time period. Based on measurements from a flow-rate sensor at an uphole end of the production tubing string, it is determined the flow rate has decreased relative to a calculated expected flow rate. Based on a pressure integrity test initiated in response to these determinations, the presence of the leak is determined.
