  • Publication number: 20140322747
Abstract: An object selecting device includes a container configured to store liquid, a plate configured to support a selection object by being immersed into the liquid stored in the container, and a holder configured to hold the plate in a state where a bottom surface of the plate and an inner bottom part of the container are separated. The plate includes a through hole at a support position. The through hole includes a tapered portion configured to allow the selection object to precipitate along a direction of gravity and support the selection object in contact with the inner wall surface of the through hole. An opening area at the upper end of the tapered portion is larger than that at the lower end of the tapered portion. Only the selection object can be supported out of the collection of objects having different shapes.

  • Patent number: 7604177
Abstract: A contactless data carrier has a measurement port receiving an external signal to be compared, a threshold generator that generates different threshold values, a comparator that compares the external signal with the threshold values, and a controller that controls the variable threshold generator on command from an interrogator and returns the comparison results to the interrogator. The comparison results returned to the interrogator may be the results of the individual comparisons, or information derived from a threshold value at which the comparison result changes. The contactless data carrier is small, lightweight, and inexpensive, and can be used to perform an essentially unlimited variety of measurements by connecting suitable sensors to the measurement port.

  • Patent number: 5063381
Abstract: A vessel display system that is operative to provide a display both of vehicle operating conditions and extraneous operating conditions. A switching arrangement allows the operator to select either the display of the external condition except during initial operation and when there is an abnormal condition in which case the vehicle running condition is displayed or a condition wherein the vehicle running condition is continuously displayed.

  • Patent number: 5043727
Abstract: A first embodiment of the invention provides a display system which is adapted to be embodied in a marine vessel having marine propulsion unit which is pivotally attached thereto for trim movement about a generally horizontally extending trim axis. The display system includes a trim angle sensor for detecting the trim angle of the propulsion unit and a trim angle display, preferably including both a graphical and a digital display, for precisely displaying information regarding the detected trim angle of the propuslion unit. Other sensors for detecting various other operating and navigating conditions of the vessel can be incorporated into the display system and a single displaying device can be used for displaying trim angle information and information regarding such other detected conditions. Another embodiment of the invention provides a display system which is adapted to be embodied in a marine vessel having a marine propulsion unit including an engine.

  • Patent number: 4988996
Abstract: A display system in a marine vessel or other vehicle which includes various means or sensors for detecting various operating and navigating conditions of the vessel or vehicle and a single displaying device for displaying information regarding one or more of these conditions. When the display system is used in a marine vessel, the system also includes a fish detection sensor and information regarding the detection of fish is displayed on the single displaying device. The single displaying device has a fixed display which displays information regarding particular operating and navigating conditions and a variable display. The variable display has three displays: a first display of information, a second display of information and a warning display of warning information. The first and second displays can be displayed alternately by the operator.

  • Patent number: 4484097
Abstract: A flat coil for use in a rotary electric machine has an annular row of generally radially extending and circumferentially spaced electrically conductive segments (1) on each annular end face of an electrically insulating base member (2). Each segment has a non-effective section disposed adjacent to the radially inner end of the segment and having a mean thickness greater than that of the remaining sections of the segment to improve the cooling ability of the coil. The segments are formed by punching a blank of thin copper sheet to form therein an annular row of radially extending and circumferentially spaced slits to thereby form an annular row of radially extending and circumferentially spaced segments. Before or after the blank is punched, the blank is subjected to forging, electrolytic plating, electrolyzing treatment or mechanical treatment so that the non-effective section of each segment has a thickness greater than that of the remaining sections.
