Abstract: .alpha.-Prop-1-ynyl-3-phenoxybenzyl alcohols of the formula ##STR1## wherein Y represents hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, cyano or dimethylamino, a process for their manufacture and their use as intermediates for the synthesis of compounds which are suitable for pest control, and which are especially suitable because of their low fish toxicity, for the control of rice pests e.g. Chilo suppressalis in rice paddies where fish are kept.

Abstract: Novel substituted 1,3-benzodithiol-2-N,N-dialkyliminium salts of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another are each hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.3 -alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 -alkynyl or the radical --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --OR, in which R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, and n is the number 2 or 3; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently of one another are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, or together they are the radical --(CH.sub.2).sub.4 -- or --(CH.sub.2).sub.5 --; and X.sup..crclbar. is a molar equivalent of an anion of an inorganic or organic acid; processes for producing these compounds, as well as compositions containing them, and their use for combating pests, particularly for combating members of the order Acarina which infest plants and animals. The novel compounds are distinguished by their special effectiveness against mites which damage plants.

Abstract: Cyclopropanecarboxylic acid alkynyl esters of the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is unsubstituted or substituted phenyl or thienyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1-6 C atoms, alkenyl having 2-6 C atoms, or phenyl or naphthyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by an alkyl or alkoxy group having 1-2 C atoms or by a halogen atom, and R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1-6 C atoms or alkenyl having 2-6 C atoms, are suitable for combating various plant and animal pests, particularly insects, and members of the order Acarina. They can be obtained by reaction of corresponding alkynols with cyclopropanecarboxylic acid or with a reactive functional derivative thereof.

Abstract: 1-(Dicyano-trimethylsiloxy)methyl-2,2-dimethylcyclopropane derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is ##STR2## and X.sub.1 is halogen. A process for the production of these compounds and their use as intermediates for obtaining biocidal compounds is described.

Abstract: Novel N-substituted 7-amino-6-nitro-4-trifluoromethyl-1,3-benzodithiol-2-ones of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is --O-- or --S--, R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, and n is 2 or 3, processes for the production of these compounds, and compositions containing them for use in pest control, especially for controlling representatives of the order Acarina and insects that are parasites of plants and animals. The novel compounds are especially effective against phytophagous mites.

Abstract: The invention discloses 2-oxo- and 2-thioxo-1,3-dithiol compounds of the formula I below which have an advantageous action on plant metabolism. They selectively promote the formation of separation tissue on fruit and leaves and are suitable for facilitating the harvesting of olives and citrus fruit. The compounds have the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl optionally interrupted by one or more oxygen atoms or substituted by halogen or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or phenoxy, unsubstituted or halogen-substituted C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkynyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, R.sub.2 is a hydrogen, methyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxycarbonyl or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, and X is oxygen or sulfur.
