  • Patent number: 7134359
Abstract: An adjustable handle assembly for a personal mobility vehicle includes a mounting bracket, an adjusting device including a primary and secondary pivot post pivotally on the mounting bracket and a mechanical lock interconnecting the two pivot posts. The mechanical lock includes a stationary bracket mounted on the primary pivot post, a bushing bracket pivotally mounted in the stationary bracket, a connecting tube, locking wedges and a sliding block. The connecting tube is attached to the bushing bracket, is hollow for slidably receiving the secondary pivot post and has multiple wedge holes that respectively movably hold locking wedges. The sliding block is slidably mounted on the connecting tube and has a bottom annular bevel that presses the locking wedges to clamp the secondary pivot post in place when the sliding block is forced to a locked position.

  • Publication number: 20060163437
Abstract: A connecting device for a joystick controller on an electric wheelchair has a post, two rods and a base. The post has two brackets attached to the post. The two rods are pivotally attached respectively to the two brackets in parallel with each other. The base is pivotally attached to the two rods to achieve a four-bar linkage. The joystick controller is adjustably and detachably mounted on the base. The four-bar linkage keeps the joystick controller oriented in a constant direction when the base moves relatively to the electric wheelchair. Therefore, the joystick controller has a fixed orientation relative to the wheelchair.

  • Publication number: 20060165476
Abstract: A latch device for a foldable steering head on an electric motorcycle has a base, an inner wheel, and an outer ring. The inner wheel is mounted on the base and has a radius-varying actuating shaft axially penetrating the inner wheel and a latching block radially and movably mounted inside the inner wheel. The latching block has an abutting end and is operationally pushed by the actuating shaft. The outer ring rotatably surrounds the inner wheel and has an inner periphery and multiple detents defined on the inner periphery to operationally engage the abutting end of the latching block so that the latch device locks. By simply pushing the actuating shaft to a radius-narrowing area, the latching block is released from push of the actuating shaft and can move inward to allow the outer ring to rotate. Therefore, the steering head can be conveniently adjusted.
