  • Patent number: 6679343
Abstract: A control device for an electric scooter has a base, a potential regulator, a control lever, a torsion spring and a circuit board. The potential regulator is attached to the base. A rod is rotatably attached to the potential regulator to adjust a voltage sent out from the potential regulator. The control lever is securely attached to the rod. The torsion spring is mounted on the rod to provide a recoil force to the control lever. The circuit board is electrically connected to the potential regulator and the electric motor of the electric scooter. Accordingly, the voltage sent from the potential regulator can be adjusted by pushing the control lever. The circuit board can send current to the electric motor of the scooter based on the voltage sent from the potential regulator. Consequently, the electric motor can be caused to move forward or backward.

  • Patent number: 6609596
Abstract: A brake device has a cam and a switch. The cam is securely attached to the steering bar of the electric scooter. The cam has a circular periphery with a plain portion and a notch. The switch is secured to the body of the electric scooter and is electrically connected to the actuator. The switch has an arm with a distal end abutting either the plain portion or the notch according to whether the scooter is turning or traveling straight. With such a brake device, the scooter will be automatically slowed down when the scooter is turned right or left.

  • Patent number: 6565105
Abstract: A frame for an electric scooter has a body, a pivotal bar, two wheel mounts, two resilient members and two tabs. The pivotal bar is pivotally attached to the front end of the body. Each wheel mount is pivotally attached to one end of the pivotal bar in a longitudinal direction. A front wheel is rotatably attached to each of the wheel mounts. The resilient members are attached to the top of the pivotal bar. The tabs are secured to the body and respectively abut one of the resilient members. Consequently, one of the resilient members will be compressed when one of the front wheels is bumped. This can keep the force applied to the front wheel from being transmitted to the body and the steering bar of the scooter. To steer and to drive the electric scooter become is easier.

  • Publication number: 20030067132
Abstract: A folding device has a bracket, a connecting arm and a locking arm. The bracket is secured to the board. The bracket has a circular top edge and two pairs of aligned notches defined in the top of the bracket. The connecting arm is pivotally in the bracket between the notches in each pair with a pivot pin. A pin extends through the connecting arm and is received in either one of the pairs of notches in the bracket. The locking arm has two ends. One end is pivotally attached to one end of the pivot pin outside the bracket, and a notch is defined in a bottom of the other end of the locking arm. Consequently, the notch in the locking arm can engage the pin from a top of the pin. The pin is kept from disengaging from the recess. The handlebar will not unintentionally fold when the scooter is in use. The safety of using the scooter is improved.

  • Publication number: 20030062703
Abstract: A suspension assembly has two plates, two sleeves, two wheel mounts and two shock absorbers. Each plate is pivotally attached to one side of the front end of the frame in a first lateral direction. Each sleeve is pivotally attached to one of the plates in a second lateral direction parallel to the first lateral direction. Each wheel mount is pivotally attached to one of the sleeves in a vertical direction perpendicular to the first and second lateral directions. One front wheel is rotatably mounted on each wheel mount. Each shock absorber is pivotally connected between each wheel mount and the frame of the scooter. Accordingly, the front wheels are independently suspended. A force applied to the front wheels will be absorbed by the shock absorber. To steer and to drive the scooter is more comfortable.

  • Patent number: 6530446
Abstract: A frame for an electric scooter has a front half-frame, a rear half-frame and at least one locking device. The rear half-frame is detachably connected to the front half-frame with at least one locking device. Each locking device has a locking plate, an arm and a pin. The locking plate is secured to one of the frame halves, and the arm and the pin are mounted on the other half-frame. The pin is retractably mounted the half-frame and has one end inserted into a bore defined in the locking plate. The arm is pivotally attached to the half-frame to pull the pin to disengage from the bore when the arm pivots relative to the half-frame. Accordingly, the front half-frame can be detached from the rear half-frame. To package, store or transport the electric scooter with the separable frame is more convenient.

  • Patent number: 5246603
Abstract: Composite microcapsules and a method of making the microcapsules, as well as a tumble drier article incorporating the microcapsules are described. The microcapsules comprise particles made of a emulsifiable mixture of a wax material and a fragrance oil which are embedded in a water soluble polymer. The microcapsules have a diameter of less than about 100 microns and are useful for incorporation in tumble drier articles to control the release of fragrance in the drier and prevent loss of fragrance during processing and storage.
