  • Patent number: 9008391
Abstract: Embodiments disclose systems and methods that aid in screening, diagnosis and/or monitoring of medical conditions. The design includes a system and method for accessing retinal images related to a patient, each retinal image including a plurality of pixels. For each of the retinal images, the system designates a first set of the plurality of pixels as active pixels including interesting retinal image regions and computes a first vector of numbers comprising pixel-level descriptors for each of the active pixels. The system computes a second vector of numbers for each of the retinal images and provides a second classification using supervised learning.

  • Patent number: 8711676
Abstract: Techniques for finding an optimized local repair path that may be used to signal a local repair connection for a protected connection. The optimized local repair path starts at a node in the path associated with the protected connection and ends at a merge point node in the path associated with the protected connection that is downstream from the start node. Various techniques may be used for finding an optimized local repair path.

  • Patent number: 8432909
Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, the present invention provides a low-cost, low-processing overhead mechanism for distributing routing, topology, reachability, and recovery information across the interface between two nodes that may then be used by a network or client device to populate a topology database, route a connection, recover from a connection failure, etc. Specifically, the methods and systems of the present invention use a link management interface and the associated link management protocol(s) to distribute this routing, topology, reachability, and recovery information, adding it to the normal link management protocol(s).

  • Patent number: 8009681
Abstract: The present invention provides improved methods and systems for interworking Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP)-based external control plane protocols with internal control plane protocols, such as Optical Signaling and Routing Protocol (OSRP). The present invention utilizes only a high-level mapping in which a trigger is created in the internal control plane protocol to initiate the desired internal control plane action or vice versa. The external control plane protocol messages and fields are encapsulated as data in the internal control plane messages and fields and are processed only at the remote end of the internal domain. By encapsulating the entirety or parts of the external control plane protocol messages and fields ensures that necessary information is carried from an ingress border node to an egress border node.

  • Patent number: 7895093
Abstract: A system and method is provided for utilizing proforma processing on adjustments in consolidation processes. The system comprises a proforma consolidation processor configured for consolidating at least one adjustment entry received from an adjustment journal. The proforma consolidation processor only performs consolidation on the at least one adjustment entry. The results of the proforma consolidation is then output to a pending journal. An inquiry module allows display of the pending journal along with current consolidation ledger balances. If the results of the proforma consolidation are acceptable, then a post module posts the pending journal and the at least one adjustment to the consolidation ledger.

  • Patent number: 6112190
Abstract: This invention describes a method and system for assimilating data, applying reasoning mechanisms, and emulating the thought processes of a credit officer for commercial credit analysis. The system aids a credit officer in the risk assessment and completion of a loan package. The system thereby improves loan turnaround time and customer service, improving loan servicing capacity, quality, and consistency of credit decisions, and reducing costs. The system includes: 1) a conventional data base management system subsystem that manages and collects data via electronic access and end-user data entry; and 2) a decision support expert system that applies a knowledge base and inference engine (collectively known as an assessment model) utilizing an evidence tree and a generalized weighting approach to analyze credit requests.
