Patent number: 11774324Abstract: A method for detecting actual slip in a coupling of a rotary shaft, for example, in a wind turbine power system, includes monitoring, via a controller, a plurality of sensor signals relating to the coupling for faults. In response to detecting a fault in the plurality of sensor signals relating to the coupling, the method includes determining, via the controller, whether the fault is indicative of an actual slip or a no-slip event of the coupling using one or more classification parameters. When the fault is indicative of the actual slip, the method includes estimating, via the controller, a magnitude of the actual slip using the plurality of sensor signals and a time duration of the actual slip. Further, the method includes implementing, via the controller, a control action based on the magnitude of the actual slip in the coupling.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2021Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: General Electric Renovables Espana, S.L.Inventors: Sandeep Dhar, Luv Verma, Hiteshkumar Rameshchandra Mistry, Dinesh Rakwal, Rwitam Mitra

Publication number: 20170134625Abstract: Systems and methods for illuminating a subject for image capture are described herein. A processor may determine an ambient color temperature of a subject. The processor may further determine a color temperature for outputting light from a display facing a first direction based on a light output characteristic for a dedicated illumination element facing the first direction, the determined ambient color temperature, and a desired color temperature of the subject. The processor may further illuminate the subject using both the dedicated illumination element and the display. The display may output light based on the determined color temperature for outputting light from the display. The processor may further capture, using an image sensor facing the first direction, an image of the subject during the subject being illuminated using both the dedicated illumination element and the display.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2015Publication date: May 11, 2017Inventors: Nathaniel Salazar, Sandeep Dhar, Todd Sutton

Publication number: 20170133966Abstract: The embodiments described herein relate to an improved system and algorithm for searching for a resonant frequency of a resonant actuator where the error between the drive frequency of the LRA and the resonant frequency of the LRA is large. In one embodiment, the drive frequency of a resonant actuator is set to an initial drive frequency, which is applied to the LRA. An induced voltage on the resonant actuator crosses can then be detected crossing a threshold voltage after the drive signal is turned off. If crossing the threshold voltage is not detected, the system is configured to sweep through a plurality of drive frequencies until the induced voltage on the resonant actuator is detected crossing the threshold voltage. This can be accomplished by repeatedly adjusting the drive frequency by a predefined incremental frequency ?F and determining when the induced voltage on the LRA crosses the threshold voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2015Publication date: May 11, 2017Inventors: Qadeer Khan, Sandeep Dhar

Patent number: 9420248Abstract: Certain aspects relate to systems and techniques for color temperature analysis and matching. For example, three or more camera flash LEDs of different output colors can be used to match any of a range of ambient color temperatures in a non-linear space on the black body curve. The scene color temperature can be analyzed in a preliminary image by determining actual sensor R/G and B/G ratios, enabling more accurate matching of foreground flash lighting to background lighting by the reference illuminant for subsequent white balance processing. The current provided to, and therefore brightness emitted from, each LED can be individually controlled based on the determined sensor response to provide a dynamic and adaptive mix of the output colors of the LEDs.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2014Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Ruben Manuel Velarde, Nathaniel Jay Tobias Salazar, Szepo Robert Hung, Sandeep Dhar, Hengzhou Ding

Patent number: 8335236Abstract: Methods and apparatus for automatically configuring an aggregated link between a device supporting Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) and two or more FCoE Forwarders (FCFs) configured as a virtual switch in an effort to isolate FCoE traffic from FCoE Initialization Protocol (FIP) traffic in the aggregated link without user intervention. For some embodiments, following an exchange of Data Center Bridge Exchange (DCBX) Protocol packets identifying the aggregated link relationship to the device (e.g., a host or intermediate bridge), subchannels may be automatically created within the aggregated link and designated as carrying either FCoE or FIP traffic, thereby isolating the subchannels. In this manner, a user need not perform manual isolation of FCoE-carrying trunks in a data center environment.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2010Date of Patent: December 18, 2012Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Sandeep Dhar, Pradeep Kanyar
