Abstract: Embodiments of a system and method of determining total isotropic sensitivity (TIS) of a wireless broadband client device are described herein. A received signal strength indicator (RSSI) reported at an embedded radio module of the device is logged for each of a plurality of antenna polarizations and for each of a plurality of platform orientations. A single point measurement of module sensitivity is performed at a reference orientation and polarization the transmit antenna. The TIS is calculated as a correction to the single point measurement of module sensitivity. A correction factor to correct the TIS may be based on the difference between an average of the logged RSSIs and an RSSI at the reference orientation and polarization of the transmit antenna.

According to one embodiment, a character scroll mode enables a user to conveniently and efficiently traverse a list in accordance with one or more significant characters of the items in the list. In one implementation, the list is a list of media items that are arranged in an ordered way. For example, the media items in the list can be arranged alphabetically. Besides the character scroll mode, the user is able to traverse the list in a quantity scroll mode, which may or may not provide acceleration.

Abstract: The present invention essentially comprises a Packet Receiver and a Stream Manager for a computer network. When a stream of packets passes through the present invention, they are received by the Packet Receiver. The Packet Receiver identifies the session to which the packet stream belongs, and passes the packet to the Stream Manager. The Stream Manager identifies the application generating the packet stream by scanning an Application ID Hash Table, which is a table that contains a mapping of destination ports to corresponding applications. Thereafter, it uses a State Machine Execution Engine to execute application decode instructions on the packet stream. The regulation of prioritized data packets includes a determination of: service level agreement violations, flow control of data packets of a predefined priority and session resettings. For determination of service level agreements the policy engine carries out a response time calculation and finds if it is in consonance with the response time agreed upon in the service level agreement. Flow control in case of a service level agreement violation is implemented either by reducing the server side window size or by delaying acknowledgement packets sent by the client.

A non-linear replica signal of non-linear transmission signal components that are created in the transceiver by a transmit signal DAC, and imposed onto the receive signal, is generated. The non-linear replica signal is subtracted from the received signal reducing the non-linear transmission signal components imposed onto the receive signal.
