  • Publication number: 20220239753
Abstract: Example methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to facilitate meter to meter matching for media identification. Example apparatus disclosed herein include an unknown signature comparer, a stack counter, and a reference database updater. The unknown signature comparer is to select a candidate unknown signature segment meeting a threshold length from a set of unknown signature segments collected at a first audience measurement location, and compare individual signatures of the candidate unknown signature segment with a collection of unknown signature segments collected at a second audience measurement location. The stack counter is to count a number of times that the candidate unknown signature segment matches unknown signature segments in the collection, and identify the candidate unknown signature segment as a matched signature segment when the number of times meets a counter threshold.

  • Patent number: 11375274
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed herein that increase a match rate for over-the-top media. An example apparatus includes an audience measurement interface to receive a first signature of media monitored by a panelist meter and a media element analyzer to compare the first signature to a reference signature stored in a reference database, in response to the first signature not matching the reference signature, compare the first signature to a preliminary signature stored in a preliminary database, determine a number of hits associated with a media element based on the second comparison, and when the number of hits meets a threshold, generate a second signature of the media element, the second signature having a greater duration than the preliminary signature, wherein the second signature is an expanded version of the preliminary signature.

  • Patent number: 11363332
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture to identify an episode number based on fingerprint and matched viewing information are disclosed. Example instructions, when executed, cause at least one processor to at least, access meter data, process the meter data to identify a presented show based on a bumper included in a show, filter the meter data based on the identification of the show, select a candidate episode, the candidate episode not associated with a known episode label, determine whether the candidate episode appears sequentially after a known episode for a threshold number of presentation locations, and label the candidate episode as the next sequential episode after the known episode in response to determining that the candidate episode appears sequentially after the known episode for the threshold number of presentation locations.

  • Patent number: 10694248
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed herein that increase a match rate for over-the-top media. An example apparatus includes a signature generator to generate a first signature of a first portion of a first media element and an audience measurement interface to receive a second signature of media monitored by a panelist meter. The example apparatus further includes a media element analyzer to compare the first signature and the second signature, determine a number of hits associated with the first media element based on the comparison, and, when the number of hits meets a threshold, generate a third signature of the first media element, the third signature generated for a second portion of the first media element, the second portion greater than the first portion.

  • Publication number: 20200143430
Abstract: Example methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., physical storage media) for tapping media connections to monitor media devices are disclosed. Example media monitoring methods disclosed herein include capturing and storing image data corresponding to image frames of media data transmitted in a media signal from a media source device to a media display device. Disclosed example methods also include detecting audio transitions in audio data of the media data transmitted in the media signal. Disclosed example methods further include determining, in response to detection of a first audio transition in the audio data, application identification information in an image frame captured prior to the detection of the first audio transition. In some disclosed examples, the application identification information is to identify a media application executed by the media source device to provide the media data transmitted in the media signal.
