Various product-related information can be read from or written into the RFID tag through RF communication. The RFID tag is arranged in a position accessible from the outside of the body frame by using an RFID reader/writer.

Abstract: An improved image forming apparatus comprises a first developing unit comprising a photosensitive body. Also provided is a second developing unit including a developing roller which is moveably installed so that the developing roller selectively contacts the photosensitive body. A pressing member selectively presses the second developing unit. The developing roller contacts the photosensitive body during a developing process and separates from the photosensitive body after the developing process is finished.

Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus and method in an image-forming system employ RFID tags capable of transmitting/receiving data via wireless communication. The RFID tags are mounted, respectively, on bottoms of fixing and developing units of the image-forming system, or on bottoms of feed and Organic Photosensitive Conductor (OPC) units of the image-forming system in case if the image-forming system has a detachable developing unit structure. An RFID reader is provided as an integral component of the motherboard or mounted as a separate module thereon. Priorities for wireless communication are assigned to the RFID tags mounted on the units and, according to the priorities, the RFID reader performs wireless communication with the RFID tags to read and write data from/into the RFID tags.

Abstract: A multi-functional peripheral device is provided. The multi-functional peripheral device includes a bottom frame and a top frame that is installed so as to be movable with respect to the bottom frame. The height of a paper stacker, to which paper is delivered and stacked, is controllable, since the top frame is movable with respect to the bottom frame.

Abstract: A document scanning method and apparatus having an editing function to edit a specific area of a document by defining an editing area of a page to be scanned and then converting the scanned document data of the editing area into a desired form, and a multi functional peripheral using the method. The document scanning method includes inputting the editing area of the page to be scanned, scanning document data from the page, extracting data corresponding to the editing area from the scanned document data, and editing the extracted data.

Abstract: A driving method of an electrophotographic type image forming apparatus is provided. The method includes forming an electrostatic latent image by operating a photoconductor and an exposure unit, developing the electrostatic latent image by operating a developing unit, and transferring the developed image to a paper, wherein the operation of the developing unit is stopped after a tail end of the electrostatic latent image passes through the developing nip. In addition, the operation of the developing unit is started at a predetermined time between the time when the paper begins to be transmitted and the time when a leading end of the electrostatic latent image reaches the developing nip.

Therefore, the image forming apparatus is designed such that the reader acting as a radio communication device is integrally formed on the mainboard, such that a cable connecting the reader and the mainboard is not required, and noise resulting from the cable can be prevented.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a first driving section having a feed mechanism and a printer engine, a second driving section having a delivery mechanism, a first motor, a second motor, and a controller. The first and second motors drive the first and second driving sections, respectively. The power supplied to one of the first and second motors having a higher output is cut off earlier by a predetermined compensation time as compared to the other motor having a lower output. The compensation time is equal to or shorter than the difference |T1?T2| between a first stop time T1 required to actually stop the first motor after cut-off of the power supplied to the first motor and a second stop time T2 required to actually stop the second motor after cut-off of the power supplied to the second motor.

The subsidiary charge roller and the development roller can be arranged such that the linear velocity of the subsidiary charge roller Vs is larger than the linear velocity of the development roller Vd, and preferably the linear velocity ratio K of the subsidiary charge roller to the development roller is in the range of 1.01 to 1.06. Abstract: A paper conveyance apparatus and method for an image forming apparatus are disclosed. The paper conveyance apparatus and method provide an improved structure in which when the distance between the conveyance roller shaft and the reversible roller shaft is shortened due to the abrasion of the reversible roller, the center of a gear train which transmits a driving force to the reversible roller is swung to move as much as the shortened distance so that the reversible roller can be continuously in contact with the conveyance roller. The paper conveyance apparatus and method comprise a conveyance roller for conveying a paper sheet to an image forming section, a reversible roller for contacting the conveyance roller, a driving motor having a driving gear for supplying a driving force to the reversible roller, and an idle gear for transmitting a driving force from the driving motor to the reversible roller.

Abstract: A developing cartridge includes a casing having a toner chamber, a feeding roller installed within the toner chamber, a developing roller supplied with a toner from the feeding roller, and a sealing film interposed between the developing roller and the feeding roller.
