  • Patent number: 6028232
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst for preparing para-chloro aromatic compounds by the liquid-phase chlorination method. The catalyst is prepared by loading transition metal salts, rare earth metal salts or a mixture thereof, and alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chlorides having a melting point of 300.degree. C. or more, by solid-state method or impregnation method, into zeolite L being ion-exchanged by alkali metal. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing para-isomers of the chlorinated compounds by using the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 5972305
Abstract: The invention herein relates to a direct manufacturing method of hydrogen peroxide over zeolite, wherein transition metals such as palladium or platinum, and organic compounds such as 2-alkyl anthraquinone or the like are encapsulated onto the zeolite channels, and then reducing agents such as hydrogen, ammonia or alcohol are used in the reaction temperature range of 10.about.90.degree. C. under atmospheric pressure. In general, alkyl anthiraquinone used in the conventional manufacturing, method of hydrogen peroxide can be easily hydrogenated in a relatively mild temperature condition in the range of room temperature to 100.degree. C. by means of a compound having hydrogen. However, the use of alkyl anthraquinone in the reaction is problematic due to the fact that it can only be utilized in a working solution with a solvent which can effectively dissolve alkyl anthraquinoe.

  • Patent number: 5879645
Abstract: The present invention provides a catalyst for reduction of nitrogen oxides represented by the formula (A.sub.a O.sub.x.B.sub.b O.sub.y).(C.sub.c O.sub.z.C'.sub.c' O.sub.z')/S which is produced by supporting mixed metal oxides represented by the formula (A.sub.z O.sub.x.B.sub.b O.sub.y).(C.sub.c O.sub.z.C'.sub.c' O.sub.z') in amorphous state on aluminum or silicon-containing support at calcination temperature of 400.degree. to 700.degree. C. in a molar ratio of 0.01:1 to 5:1, anda method for removing nitrogen oxides through selective catalytic reduction which comprises converting 50 to 50,000 ppm of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas from automobile or from fixed source such as plant turbine and boiler, and other industry in a state of having 0.1 to 20% of excessive oxygen over (A.sub.a O.sub.x.B.sub.b O.sub.y).(C.sub.c O.sub.z.C'.sub.c' O.sub.z')/S catalyst by using 100 to 100,000 ppm of hydrocarbon reducing agent having 1 to 5 carbons under the reaction condition of 200.degree. to 800.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 5855815
Abstract: A process for producing a synthesis gas having carbon monoxide and hydrogen from the reduction of carbon dioxide with natural gas or lower hydrocarbons having methane as a main component and oxygen and steam over catalyst composed of nickel and, as promotors, alkali metal and alkaline earth metal component supported on silicon-containing support such as zeolite, silica, silicate and silica-alumina which are stable under reaction condition is disclosed. This process characterized in that the catalytic activity and performance property are improved by supporting alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and nickel oxide from metal salts having low melting point uniformly on silicon-containing support having high surface area by solid-state reaction. The amounts of adding alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and nickel are 0.01 to 10% by weight, 1 to 20% by weight and 1 to 20% by weight, respectively. The present invention is conducted in the temperature range from 600.degree. C. to 1000 .degree. C.
