Abstract: A method and device for managing images stored in a plurality of storage media by using a display unit included in an image forming apparatus to prints the images are provided. The method includes: displaying identification names of a plurality of storage media included in or connected to the image forming apparatus; and linking information on images stored in the plurality of storage media with the identification names of the plurality of storage media and displaying the information on images stored in the plurality of storage media. Accordingly, the identification names of the plurality of storage media included in or connected to the image forming apparatus are displayed by linking information on images with the identification names in order to manage the images stored in the storage media. Therefore, a user can conveniently and promptly recognize and manage the storage media and the images stored in the storage media.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for setting one-touch dials corresponding to keys for each user in a fax machine or multi-function product (MFP) having a fax function. The method includes identifying a user, searching a storage unit storing user-based one-touch dial information, reading one-touch dial information corresponding to the identified user, and matching one-touch dials with keys using the read one-touch dial information. Accordingly, when a fax is transmitted by using a fax machine or MFP that a plurality users share, the number of available one-touch dials can be increased by using a one-touch dial and setting one-touch dials corresponding to keys for each user.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to upgrade a driver of an image forming apparatus. The method includes accessing a website having a website driver program useable by the image forming apparatus, converting a class mode of the image forming apparatus from an original class mode to a predetermined class mode that is different from the original class mode, comparing a driver program stored in the image forming apparatus with the website driver program on the website, and downloading the website driver program from the website and storing the website driver program in the image forming apparatus when the website driver program is a later version than the stored driver program.

Abstract: Provided are a method and device for calculating a distance between conveyed media based on a feeding speed of the media selected by a user and continuously picking up and feeding the media based on the calculated distance. The method involves selecting a distance between the media along the print path of the image forming apparatus, calculating a conveying distance of a first medium at the time when a second medium is picked up after the front end of the first medium is detected based on the selected distance, and picking up and feeding the second medium using the calculated conveying distance of the first medium.

Abstract: An image input/output apparatus including a document support on which a document is loaded, a platen disposed in parallel to the document support and allowing a sheet of paper to be loaded thereon, and an image input/output module disposed between the document support and the platen, and moved in a sub-scanning direction. The image input/output module includes an array inkjet head which includes a nozzle unit with a length corresponding to a width of the sheet of paper, and a scan unit which reads image information from the document.

Abstract: A method of upgrading firmware of an image forming device using a mobile terminal, includes connecting a mobile terminal to the image forming device, the mobile terminal having a memory storing therein firmware of the image forming apparatus, transmitting information on the firmware of the memory to the image forming device in response to a firmware upgrade request of the image forming device, comparing the transmitted firmware information from the mobile terminal with the firmware stored at the image forming apparatus, and upgrading the firmware of the image forming device according to the comparison result.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for adjusting the alignment between a first media surface and a second media surface in a printing device that prints by heating the first and second media surfaces using a single thermal head. The method includes the operations of printing a first pattern on the first surface of the medium by heating the first surface at first intervals using the thermal head, printing a second pattern on the second surface of the medium by heating the second surface at second intervals using the thermal head, detecting an overlapping print position where the first pattern completely overlaps the second pattern, calculating a distance deviation between a print position of the first surface and a print position of the second surface using the overlapping print position, and adjusting the print position of either of the first and second surfaces of the medium based on the calculated distance deviation.

Accordingly, data can be transmitted quickly by not including unnecessary additional data, an application region can be expanded by including other media file besides a video and an audio files, because a random access and random reproduction by key index information are possible, it is possible to support various reproduction functions such as a fast play, a reverse play and random reproduction, etc.

Abstract: A personal video recorder (hereinafter, as PVR), including a decoder unit for parsing a transport packet (hereinafter, as TP) stream into a video stream and an audio stream by receiving the TP stream, decoding and outputting the parsed video stream and audio stream, an image processing unit for capturing and outputting a representative image from the video signal which was decoded from the decoder unit and a storage unit for storing a TP stream which was not parsed but was bypassed in the decoder unit or storing a representative image outputted from the image processing unit and a method for operating the same. By the above recorder and method, the user can visually grasp the contents of the broadcasting program immediately without watching the whole program using the function of the story board which includes the representative image and detailed information and conveniently enjoy various functions of the PVR.
