  • Publication number: 20200322765
Abstract: In a 6G network, microservices can be utilized in the absence of a core network. For example, after a mobile device has authenticated, through its carrier network, with a transport service layer, microservices can be allocated to the mobile device without having to be transmitted via the core network. Thus, removing the core network from the process can generate a direct line of microservices from the transport layer to the end-user. Furthermore, additional microservices and/or resources can be access through a microservices library. Consequently, packets can be securely transmitted be a wireless network facilitating sending packet profile data from one to many node devices in anticipation of the packet traversing the various node devices.

  • Publication number: 20200311993
Abstract: Global position system tagging the movement of an object and extrapolating its direction and speed can be used for various services including emergency-based services. Location data can be computed using edge computing nodes. The extrapolation system can account for feedback from responding user devices and utilize the user device's location at the time of reporting to facilitate determining the direction, location, and/or speed of a moving object. This data can then be utilized to generate augmented reality displays for mobile devices and/or vehicles that utilize the system. The ability to calculate directional information with edge computing nodes can comprise an ability to add enriched data by predicting an object's whereabouts, route, and/or final destination.

  • Patent number: 10791467
Abstract: A framework of abstraction of new and existing 5G radios can enhance capabilities of new and existing micro radios and other short range radio technologies to enable intelligent service delivery, dynamic access learning capability, and network slicing over 5G access networks. Enhancing layer communication for both control and user plane can be tunneled through the hosting layer and exploit a common transport provided by the hosting layer. The tunneling through the hosting layer can also enable the enhance capabilities to access the same radio management functions and can be orchestrated by the same core function. The framework for abstraction of the resources can be used to provide dynamic sharing of the resources and then be divided amongst different carriers.

  • Patent number: 10779186
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a dynamic access slice pooling system with software defined network (SDN) controlled capabilities in a 5G wireless communications system. A radio access network device can have one or more slices instantiated on the device that facilitate various services being requested by user equipment devices. A slice can have one or more virtual network functions that are specialized for particular services. When a user equipment device requests a service, the service can be assigned to a slice based on the type of service being requested. If the type of slice associated with the service is not currently operational, the SDN controller on the radio access network device can instantiate a new slice with the virtual network functions selected for the service being requested.

  • Publication number: 20200287977
Abstract: Techniques for instantiating and managing microservices for use in connection with devices associated with a core network are presented. A service management component (SMC) can determine a subgroup of services to be used for a group of one or more devices based on results of analysis of characteristics and service conditions associated with the group of devices, wherein a characteristic can relate to whether a device is stationary or mobile. At a desired time(s), which can be periodically, dynamically, or upon request, SMC can instantiate or facilitate instantiating the subgroup of services to facilitate communicating data associated with the device(s) using the subgroup of services. The services can comprise a connectionless service, connection-oriented service, charging service, authentication service, UPF services, or other services. SMC can employ the connectionless service when a device is stationary, but the connectionless service can be extended to devices when they are nomadic or mobile.

  • Publication number: 20200274643
Abstract: A user equipment (e.g., C-V2X user equipment) can receive a transmission from a network device of a mobile network and decode the transmission using a first forward error correction code. The user equipment can determine an attribute of the transmission to determine a condition of the communication channel. Based on the condition of the communication channel, the user equipment can facilitate transmitting feedback to the network device, wherein the feedback is forwarded through the mobile network to an application server device that selects a second forward error correction code based on the feedback. The second forward error correction code can be transmitted to, and received by, the user equipment. The user equipment can use the second forward error correction code to decode subsequent transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20200245185
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamic access network slice switching and carrier aggregation include a radio access network (RAN) and user devices with dual radio user equipment. The RAN receives a 4G and a 5G service request from user equipment having a specified priority. A first RAN slice for the 4G and 5G service request is instantiated using a RAN scheduler. A temporary radio resource control protocol slice having an associated timer that allows the dual radio user equipment to stay connected to the RAN for a period of time is then instantiated. Instructions identifying an appropriate resource and RAN slice for complying with user plane service level agreement requirements are received at the RAN and a second RAN slice for instantiating a carrier aggregation slice comprising both the 4G and 5G radio resource control protocol request for complying with the user plane service level agreement requirement is engaged.
