  • Publication number: 20050215265
Abstract: Method and system for load balancing in a wireless communication system, including an access node, are disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, the method comprises i) communicating data wirelessly between the access node and a plurality of terminals via a plurality of channels, wherein the plurality of terminals and the access node form a wireless local area network, ii) determining, at the access node, an overloaded channel from the plurality of channels and iii) transferring, at the access node, a load from the overloaded channel to a less loaded channel of the plurality of channels.

  • Publication number: 20050009527
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and method for wireless uplink communication to and downlink communication from a wireless network are provided. The WTRU has a selectively configurable transceiver that has a network connected mode defined by a plurality of functional states including at least one monitoring state and a duplex state. The transceiver is configured to transition from a monitoring state upon occurrence of predefined WTRU events that are each associated with a respective uplink procedure initiation communication where at least one of procedures results in a network response that includes a temporary identifier. The transceiver is configurable into a transition state wherein the transceiver is configured to send only the uplink initiation communications and is otherwise configured only for downlink communications.

  • Patent number: 6670314
Abstract: A method of washing dishware/tableware in an automatic dishwashing machine having a single or multi-compartment product dispenser which is normally closed and sealed after charging the machine and prior to delivery of the dishwashing product into the wash liquor and wherein the dishwashing product comprises one or more dishwashing compositions in a unit dose form having a degree of deformability greater than about 10% and a shape and size such that the dishwashing product occupies more than about 60%, preferably more than about 85% of the volume of the corresponding compartment of the product dispenser in its closed state. The method allows for optimum delivery of active components across different washing machine types.

  • Patent number: 6656118
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for monitoring multiple ultrasound scanners of differing platform types for system events, acquiring system event data of the ultrasound scanners, and transferring the system event data to a remote location by applying a common data mining module and log viewer component in each scanner to act as an interface between a web server and control processing section within the scanners. A computer at an automated support center that is remote to the scanners interfaces to the web servers of the scanners over a network. The remote computer has a web browser to survey the scanners by communicating with the web servers over the network. The data mining module continuously monitors the scanners for system events. Log files are generated within the scanners during normal operation of the scanner. The log viewer component translates system event log files within the scanners in response to internal requests occurring in the scanners at regular, pre-defined time intervals.

  • Patent number: 6633833
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for diagnosing multiple ultrasound scanners from a remote location by applying a diagnostic middleware architecture to act as an interface between a web server and diagnostics section within the scanners. A computer that is remote to the scanners interfaces to the web servers of the scanners over a network. The remote computer has a web browser to survey the scanners by communicating with the web servers over the network. The diagnostic middleware architecture initiates execution of diagnostic programs within the scanners in response to client requests received by the web servers from the remote computer over the network. Diagnostic results are generated within the scanners when running the diagnostic programs of the scanners. Log files are generated within the scanners during normal operation of the scanners.
