  • Publication number: 20230299590
Abstract: A method for deriving a predetermined unit of power from a power generator using a renewable energy source is disclosed. It comprises determination of a power generation capacity of the power generator, by a control unit, based on application parameters received by the control unit associated with generation of the predetermined unit of power, operational parameters associated with the power generator, and environmental parameters associated with a location of derivation of the power from the renewable energy source. A value of resistance is then determined by the control unit to reduce power loss during power generation, wherein a resistor unit having the determined value of resistance is electrically coupled with the power generator. The control unit then derives the predetermined unit of power across the resistor unit from the power generator.

  • Patent number: 11739277
Abstract: Organic sulfur compounds which are generally present in the crude oil undergoes various transformations while processing the crude oil in the secondary processing units such as fluid catalytic cracker, hydrocracker, delayed coker, visbreaker, etc. The sulfur present in the feed which enters into these secondary processing units are distributed into various products coming out of the units. Sulfur compounds which are present in the various product fractions are removed to meet the desired specifications before routing to the final product pool. Conventionally, sulfur present in the LPG has been removed by amine treatment followed by caustic and water wash. The present invention relates to a process for removal of sulfur and other impurities from Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) comprising olefins through reactive desulfurization route. The present invention is an eco-friendly process as it minimizes or eliminates the use of caustic which is conventionally used to remove the sulfur from LPG.

  • Patent number: 11732200
Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated process for increasing the research octane number (RON) of FCC gasoline with simultaneous reduction in benzene content. In this process, benzene rich gasoline fraction is reacted with light olefin rich gaseous streams like FCC off gas/dry gas, coker off gas to produce alkyl aromatics using FCC catalyst system containing ZSM-5 zeolite. The catalyst is continuously drawn from the FCC regenerator by suitably placing the alkylation reactor in communication with the FCC regenerator. The product stream of the alkylation reactor is routed to main fractionator for separation of off gas and benzene lean gasoline. This integrated process not only improves the octane number of gasoline but also lowers the gasoline benzene content. Further the integrated alkylation reactor system acts as a heat sink lowering the FCC regenerator temperature and enables the FCC unit to process high CCR feeds.

  • Patent number: 11661556
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sequential thermo-chemical treatment along with adsorption-based pre-treatment process for residual oils having a very high naphthenic acid content. First stage of the process is a thermal pre-treatment step which results into generation of hydrocarbon stream with a reduced naphthenic acid content due to high temperature. In second stage of pre-treatment, generated hydrocarbon stream from stage-1 is subjected to esterification reaction with alcohol, such as methanol, to further reduce the TAN of hydrocarbon stream. After recovery of alcohol from the reaction mixture, depending on TAN reduction required reaction mixture may be subjected to an adsorption stage, third stage pre-treatment, where an adsorbent mixture comprising of FCC spent catalyst is used to adsorb the TAN of feed hydrocarbon stream. The treated hydrocarbon stream is then co-processed with DCU feed stock for producing lighter hydrocarbons.
