    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for converting the waste plastic along with the petroleum residue feedstock in a Delayed Coker unit employed in refineries. The invented process aims to convert any type of waste plastic including polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene etc. including metal additized multilayer plastics along with the petroleum residue material from crude oil refining such as reduced crude oil, vacuum residue etc. Value added light distillate products like motor spirit, LPG, middle distillates etc. are produced upon co-conversion in the invented process and is recovered and treated along with the products of thermal cracking of hydrocarbon residues. The residual metals in the metal additized plastics upon co-conversion in the invented process will be deposited in the solid petroleum coke.

The titer of enzyme mixture produced using mutant fungal strain MRJ-16 is at least two fold higher than naive Penicillium funiculosum strain NCIM 1228, when used in a fermentation process. The mutant strain ‘MRJ-16’ with high hydrolytic activity and catabolite derepressed character is having application in the method of degrading or saccharifying biomass to produce valuable products for example-bioethanol.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a one-pot process of synthesis of phenyl naphthalene compounds that are employed as heat transfer agents. More particularly, the present invention provides a process of preparation of 1-phenylnaphthalene and 2-methyl-1-phenylnaphthalene using refinery spent catalyst. These molecules are known for application as synthetic heat transfer fluids that deliver outstanding performance and thermal stability at continuously high operating temperatures. The reaction is carried out in aqueous medium using a spent catalyst which is a palladium based charcoal catalyst as obtained from various refinery processes. Further, the present invention provides a heat resistant formulation using the synthesized polyhydrocarbons, wherein the formulation is optimized with a free radical scavenger.
