    Abstract: Techniques are described herein to communicate policy information and policy information requests between user equipments (UEs) and a core network using control plane signaling. In some examples, non-access stratum (NAS) messages may be used to communicate policy information requests from a UE to the core network. Similarly, NAS messages may be used to communicate up-to-date policy information from the core network to the UE. In some examples, the core network may include number of functions to manage the communication of policy information with the UE. In some examples where the UE is roaming away from its home network, the core network may engage in additional signaling to pass policy information to the UE.

During the discovery interval, a discovery message may be sent. The discovery message indicates the post-discovery communication protocol for communicating within the mobile device cluster after the discovery interval. The discovery message may further indicate a time interval for sending and receiving a paging request. In response to the receipt of the discovery message a second mobile devices may send a paging request, the paging request including a security information request. The method further includes sending from the first mobile device a paging response including security information and exchanging one or more post-discovery communications with the second mobile device using the security information.

The first field may indicate whether the WUR frame is a fixed length frame or a variable length frame. The transmitting wireless device may also determine a frame check sequence (FCS) type for use with a WUR frame for transmission. The FCS portion may be capable of being one of a plurality of FCS types. The transmitting wireless device may transmit the WUR frame to the one or more intended receiving wireless devices.

    Abstract: Devices and methods for synchronized group messaging in a wireless communication system are described. Multicast transmissions, such as those in a dense network, can cause significant medium usage because same multicast packet is likely sent by multiple APs at different time. Medium usage in such implementations may be redundant. As such, the transmission medium is not used optimally. Devices and methods which coordinate and align group messages (e.g., multicast packets) amongst APs are described. Each AP may be configured to transmit identical packets at the same time. Therefore, medium usage can be reduced, while the range can be extended due to accumulated energy from APs.
