  • Publication number: 20120215240
Abstract: A medical cutting instrument for cutting muscles and tendons, with an instrument body that includes a handle on its proximal end and at least one cutting knife in the area of its distal end. To provide a medical cutting instrument that guarantees ease of handling and simple structure along with secure cutting of the muscle/tendon tissue, the instrument body should be of grooved configuration in the area of its cutting knife in such a way that the instrument body includes a hollow space extending in the longitudinal direction of the instrument body to receive and guide the muscle/tendon tissue that is to be cut, such that the instrument body includes an opening extending in the longitudinal direction of the instrument body and the cutting knife constitutes a side of the instrument body.

  • Publication number: 20120123428
Abstract: A repositioning forceps serves for holding two bone parts together which bone parts are to be connected. Two scissors-like forceps halves are connected via a hinge. Each of said two forceps halves has a distal section having a laterally outwardly curved branch and a proximal section having a grip part. The laterally outwardly curved branch has distal ends directed towards each other in a closed position of the reposition forceps. A drilling aid is mounted at one of said curved branches. Said drilling aid is rotatable at least about a rotation axis extending perpendicular to said forceps plane. Said drilling aid has a drilling tool guide extending along a guide axis extending along said branch.

  • Patent number: 8114094
Abstract: A device for introducing an anchor element into a bone, having a loop of thread extending laterally from said anchor element. The device has an elongate body having a distal end which can be inserted into the anchor element in a rotationally locked manner. A distal end portion of said elongate body has at least one cutting for inserting the loop protruding laterally from the anchor element. The cutting is designed in such a way that the loop when inserted into the cutting is prevented from falling laterally away. The elongate body further has a longitudainlly extending recess in an area of the cutting. The recess is designed as an opening extending right through the elongate body, such that the loop inserted into the cutting can be gripped from the outside.

  • Patent number: 8088136
Abstract: A medical instrument for cutting tissue has a tubular outer shaft, which comprises at least one window in the region of its distal end. The medical instrument further comprises a tubular inner shaft which is rotatable about a longitudinal axis and housed in the outer shaft and which has at its distal end a window arranged in the region of the at least one window of the outer shaft and provided with at least one cutting element. The medical instrument has a fixing element for unrotatably holding of the inner shaft relative to the outer shaft in a preset position. The fixing element is irreversibly detachable through rotational movement of the inner shaft.

  • Patent number: 8075588
Abstract: A device serves to insert an anchoring element and a suture thread into a bone to attach a tendon or a ligament without drilling a hole into the bone. The device comprises an anchoring element, having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis and further a continuous channel, and a tool for inserting the anchoring element and the suture thread, having a longitudinal axis, a distal end section and a further section being designed in such a way that it can be introduced into the anchoring element from the proximal end to the distal end. The tool can be inserted into the continuous channel of the anchoring element in such a way that the distal end section of the tool projects distally beyond the anchoring element, wherein the projecting distal end section is designed as a stable driving head. The anchoring element further has an external thread.

  • Publication number: 20100318125
Abstract: An anchor device serves for knot-free attachment of a tissue to a bone by means of at least one suture threaded through that anchor device. The device comprises an anchor body and a transverse bore for receiving a suture passing through said anchor body in a distal end region. The anchor body is provided with a longitudinal bore extending axially from a proximal end up to said transverse bore, and an axially displaceable clamping element is held in said longitudinal bore. An expanding element is provided for radially expanding at least one section of a wall surrounding said longitudinal bore.

  • Publication number: 20100217286
Abstract: A medical instrument for grasping surgical suture material, with a shaft on whose proximal end a handle is positioned consisting of at least two gripping members and on whose distal end a tool is positioned consisting of a rigid jaw member and a pivotable jaw member and where the pivotable jaw member can be pivoted with respect to the rigid jaw member for opening and closing with a moveably configured gripping member of the handle, for which purpose the pivotable jaw member and the moveable gripping member are in active connection with one another by means of an actuating element mounted in the shaft. To create a medical instrument that is both easy to operate and makes possible a safe grasping and guiding of the suture material, it is disclosed that in the rigid jaw member there should be configured an indentation that opens toward the pivotable jaw member and that can be covered, with the tool in closed position, only in the center area by the pivotable jaw member.
