  • Patent number: 9084223
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing Multi-media Broadcast Multicast Services (MBMS) data to user equipment in a Multi-media Broadcast over a Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) environment over relay nodes are provided. The method includes periodically evaluating a synchronization delay associated with relay nodes in an MBSFN area by a DeNB, and assigning resources to the relay nodes for communicating MBMS data. The method also includes setting a time stamp in synchronization packets based on the synchronization delay. The time stamp information may indicate a start time for synchronized transmission of the MBMS data to user equipment in the MBSFN area over an air interface. The method may further include transmitting the synchronization packets including the MBMS data and time stamp information to the relay nodes using the allocated resources such that the MBMS data is synchronously transmitted to the user equipment by the relay nodes.

  • Publication number: 20150180850
Abstract: A method for authenticating a client application attempting to access a protected resource on a resource server includes receiving a request to access the protected resource at an authorization server. The request is received from the client application authorized by a resource owner of the protected resource. Further, the method includes redirecting the request to the resource server using a redirect identifier corresponding to a redirect endpoint of the client application. The redirect identifier is intercepted by a web run time engine prior to the redirect. Furthermore, the method includes determining a match between the intercepted redirect identifier and a pre-assigned redirect identifier with the client application stored at the web run time engine to authenticate the client application prior to providing access to the protected resource.

  • Publication number: 20150181560
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system of communication with low cost Machine Type Communication (MTC) devices. In one embodiment, a MTC device transmits capability information to a base station. The capability information includes identity associated with the MTC device, an operating frequency and an operating bandwidth supported by the MTC device, antenna configuration information, support for number of radio frequency (RF) chains, and/or half duplex configuration. The base station tunes the MTC device to the operating frequency and the operating bandwidth supported by the MTC device based on the capability information. The base station sends a message indicating the MTC device to be tuned to the operating frequency and/or the operating bandwidth. Accordingly, the base station and the MTC device exchange messages (control messages and/or data messages) within the operating bandwidth over the operating frequency.

  • Publication number: 20150148048
Abstract: A method and system for handling both voice and non-voice calls in a CSFB scenario is disclosed. An indication is provided to user equipment (UE) to indicate whether the CSFB call is a voice call or a non-voice call (CS data call). The indication can be provided to the UE by a wireless network in a RRC connection release message or a CS service notification message. Further, the UE upon receiving the indication from the network can indicate whether the CSFB call is a voice call or a data call to a target radio access network (RAN) by providing a priority bit indication to all the voice calls for differentiating the voice calls from non-voice calls. The RAN prioritizes all the voice calls ahead of non-voice calls for the UE in the CSFB scenario.

  • Publication number: 20150146595
Abstract: A method and system for minimizing the battery power consumption of user equipment (UE) during inter-frequency cell detection in a heterogeneous network is disclosed. A serving cell in the heterogeneous network provides a relaxed cell detection indication to the UE on a specified frequency for cell detection. The UE applies the relaxed cell detection for detecting the cells on the specified frequency. During inter-frequency cell detection on specified frequency, the UE discards some normal measurement gaps. The inter-frequency cell detection is delayed as compared to normal cell detection time requirement using the normal measurement gaps. The UE deactivates the relaxed detection indication, upon detecting the inter-frequency cell and performs the continuous RSRP and RSRQ measurements for detected inter-frequency cell using all the normal measurement gaps to meet normal measurement accuracy and measurement reporting requirement.

  • Publication number: 20150139053
Abstract: A method and system for minimizing battery power consumption of user equipment (UE) during inter-frequency cell discovery in heterogeneous network is disclosed. UE receives background scan configuration for specified frequency from the network and performs the background scan for detecting inter-frequency cell. The UE detects an inter-frequency cell on the frequency indicated in the background scan configuration, during the inactive time of DRX cycle. Further, UE indicates the physical cell identity of the detected cell to the network. Then the UE activates the normal measurement gap provided previously or the network configures normal measurement gap to the UE if not provided previously. Further, UE performs Reference signal Received Power (RSRP) and Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) measurements of the detected cell. Then the UE reports these measurements to the network when the measurement report event condition is satisfied and the network handovers the UE to the detected cell.
