  • Patent number: 4782412
Abstract: Individual magnetic heads for cassette tapes in compartments which are stacked one on top of another are attached to separate supporting pieces of different heights and secured in a slidable plate at different horizontal distances from the cassette compartments. Prior art mechanisms for azimuthally adjustable attachment can be effectively used to secure the magnetic heads on the supporting pieces.

  • Patent number: 4698704
Abstract: An automatic cassette tape recorder stop apparatus which can drive a plurality of magnetic tapes simultaneously or individually and includes a sensor for each of the tapes; and a lock release block which receives the load applied to each sensor, rotates a trigger lever through a conversion lever, and actuates a cam gear, a lock release plate and a lock plate. The automatic stop apparatus further includes a load-receiving resilient member for each sensor which does not allow the load on the sensor to be transmitted to the trigger lever while the tape is running but allows the load to be transmitted to the trigger lever for its rotation when the tape has been wound to the end.

  • Patent number: 4551775
Abstract: There is provided a tape recorder which includes first and second recording/playing mechanisms for driving a tape at a constant speed for recording or playing, an auto-stop assembly for discontinuing operation of the first or second recording/playing mechanism when an end of the tape approaches, a control assembly for placing the first or second recording/playing assemblies selectively into a first stop mode or a second stop mode, the first stop mode being the mode from which the first or second recording/playing mechanisms may be switched into a constant driving mode independently of each other and the second stop mode being the mode from which the constant driving mode may be switched from the first recording/playing mechanism to the second or vice verse, and a link assembly connected between the auto-stop assembly and the control assembly for rendering the control assembly operable to shift the constant driving mode from the first recording/playing mechanism to the second or vice verse upon the completion

  • Patent number: 4420783
Abstract: A mode selector assembly for use in a tape recorder or the like is disclosed herein, for placing the tape recorder or the like into a selected operating mode by means of a rotating member upon the actuation of an actuator lever. The mode selector assembly includes a cam surface on the rotating member, interlocking device provided between the actuator lever and the rotating member for sliding movement with rotating movement of the cam surface, responsive to rotation of the rotating member and connecting means for connecting the actuator lever to the interlocking means. The actuator lever is shifted to its actuated position via the interlocking means in response to rotation of the cam surface immediately after the rotating member is rotated upon actuation of the actuator lever.

  • Patent number: 4404610
Abstract: A mode selection assembly for use in tape recorders or the like is disclosed which includes a rotating member (for example, a gear) rotatable in an intermittent manner and bearing a plurality of projections, a plurality of actuator levers for selection of the operating modes of the tape recorder or the like, a plurality of engaging members one of which engages with one of the projections in response to actuation of the actuator levers. The rotating member is prevented from rotating to bring the tape recorder or the like into a desired one of the operating modes when one of the projections is held in engaging relationship with one of the engaging members and the rotating member is permitted to rotate for selection of another operating mode when none of the projections are in engaging relationship with the engaging members.

  • Patent number: 4323935
Abstract: A cassette tape player comprises a reproduction head mounted on a subchassis, and a nonprogram section detection circuit for searching a nonprogram section provided between two adjacent programs recorded on a magnetic tape while the magnetic tape is driven to travel at a fast speed. When a fast forward lever or a fast rewind lever is locked under the condition where a playback lever is locked and the subchassis is held at a predetermined position, a switch mounted on the subchassis is switched on to power supply the nonprogram section detection circuit. That is, the cassette tape player is placed in a nonprogram section detection mode when both the playback lever, and the fast forward lever or the fast rewind lever are locked. Upon detecting the nonprogram section, a plunger is activated to unlock the fast forward lever or the fast rewind lever to return the cassette tape player to a normal playback mode.
