Publication number: 20030012662Abstract: A temperature sensitive fluid type fan coupling apparatus obtains linear characteristics without spoiling the drag performance. The fan coupling apparatus has a sealed case divided by a partition into an oil reservoir chamber and a torque transfer chamber. A valve is adapted to open and close an outflow regulating port in the partition in accordance with external ambient temperature. A driving disk is in the torque transfer chamber, and the transfer of torque is controlled by increasing and decreasing an effective contact surface of the oil with the driving disk. An idle oil reservoir chamber is formed in a hollow inner portion of the driving disk. A communication port is made in a side wall of the oil reservoir chamber and communicates with the torque transfer clearance. The communication port is closer to an inner circumference of the torque transfer chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2002Publication date: January 16, 2003Applicant: Usui Kokusai Sangyo Kaisha LimitedInventors: Haruyasu Ito, Satoshi Kubota, Masato Yamada

Patent number: 6233596Abstract: An objective of this invention is a design that improves the memory usage ratio and execution speed of a sum-of-products operation instruction, improves the critical path of sum-of-products operations, and prevents overflows. A sum-of-products operation circuit executes sum-of-products operations a number of times that is specified by number-of-executions information comprised within a sum-of-products operation instruction, under the control of a control circuit. The number of times the sum-of-products operation is to be executed is set into a register, that number is decremented every time one cycle of the sum-of-products operation ends, and the sum-of-products operation instruction ends when the value in the register reaches zero. If an interrupt is received during the execution of a plurality of sum-of-products operations, execution of the sum-of-products operations resumes after the interrupt processing. First and second sum-of-products input data are read at the same time by a single memory access.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1998Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Satoshi Kubota, Makoto Kudo, Yoshiyuki Miyayama

Patent number: 5276650Abstract: An apparatus and method for reducing the size of memory arrays which are comprised of memory cells which use bit lines to access the cells. Adjacent cells in a row are assigned different word lines so that bit lines between adjacent cells can be shared. During the read and write cycles, bit lines of a row are selected by alternating the word lines and by setting corresponding sense amplifier selectors. By sharing bit lines in this way, the size of the memory array can be decreased significantly. Therefore, using the teachings of the present invention, a given amount of memory can be manufactured in a significantly smaller area. Alternately, significantly more memory can be stored in the same amount of area as would be required using a usual memory design.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1992Date of Patent: January 4, 1994Assignee: Intel CorporationInventor: Satoshi Kubota
