  • Patent number: 7653178
Abstract: A method for generating an X-ray includes the steps of: flattening an electron beam with a circular cross section by means of Lorentz force to form a flat electron beam with a flat cross section under the condition so that an intensity of the flat electron beam per unit area can be set higher than an intensity of said electron beam per unit area; and irradiating the flat electron beam onto a target, thereby generating an X-ray.

  • Patent number: 7359485
Abstract: An electron beam with a circular cross section is flattened to form a flat electron beam with a flattened cross section. Then, the flat electron beam is irradiated onto a target, thereby generating an X-ray. Since the flat electron beam has high energy density, the X-ray can be generated in high intensity.

  • Patent number: 7219781
Abstract: An electromagnetic suspension system comprises a universal joint mechanism for permitting radial movement of a cylinder relative to a center yoke while preventing axial movement of the cylinder relative to the center yoke. Since the cylinder is capable of radial movement relative to the center yoke, if a lateral force acts on the cylinder, the lateral force acting on a hydraulic damper does not have any significant effect on the center yoke 17 with respect to radial movement or rocking movement thereof. Therefore, excessive sliding friction does not occur in a center-yoke dry metal and a piston-rod dry metal, thereby ensuring smooth axial relative displacement between the center yoke and an outer yoke.

  • Patent number: 6427986
Abstract: An air chamber (53) of a damping force adjusting mechanism (49) disposed in a hydraulic shock absorber (3) of a damping force adjusting type communicates with an air chamber (7) of an air spring through a tubular path (57). A free piston (51) is transferred in accordance with the pressure of the air chamber and a spool (46) is transferred to shift a damping force. The damping force presents a soft characteristic both on the extending side and on the retracting side in a usual status, presents a hard characteristic on the extending side and a soft characteristic on the retracting side when the pressure of the air chamber is high, and presents a soft characteristic on the extending side and a hard characteristic on the retracting side when the pressure of the air chamber (7) is low. The damping force can be obtained, which approximates the damping force control on the basis of a so-called sky-hook theory.

  • Patent number: 4349330
Abstract: An improved nozzle spray type burner including a combustion chamber, a housing having an exhaust passage coupled to the combustion chamber, a fan mounted in the housing for directing air through the exhaust passage to the combustion chamber and a fuel spray nozzle in the exhaust passage for spraying fuel into the flow of air in the exhaust passage. The improvement includes a first mechanism associated with the fan to control the flow rate of air in the exhaust passage, and a second mechanism associated with the nozzle for controlling the amount of fuel sprayed from the nozzle. The first and second mechanisms are arranged to cooperate to control the degree of combustion of the fuel with the air in the combustion chamber.
