  • Patent number: 7251917
Abstract: An arrangement for securing fabric relative to a framework comprising a framework, a groove in the framework, and a locking spline for being received into the groove in the framework whereby a fabric panel can be retained relative to the framework by an insertion of the locking spline into the groove with a portion of the fabric panel disposed between the locking spline and the groove. The framework can have an obverse side, a peripheral edge, and a reverse side and the groove can be disposed to the reverse side of the framework whereby the fabric panel can be applied to the framework with a portion of the fabric panel retained within the groove and with the fabric panel reversing over the peripheral edge of the framework and traversing at least a portion of the framework. A secondary groove can enable a retention of a secondary material.

  • Publication number: 20060161993
Abstract: A computer arrangement for inducing a retraction of a computer component in response to a sensed emergency or security condition. The computer arrangement can include an enclosure with an open inner volume and a support member extendably and retractably retained relative to the enclosure. A computer component, such as a monitor, a keyboard, or a laptop computer, can be retained relative to the support member. One or more sensors can sense an emergency or security condition thereby to induce a retraction of the support member and, possibly, a closing of a lid. The keyboard or laptop computer can be retained relative to a support unit or cradle, which can be manually or automatically pivotable between a storage configuration and a second configuration.

The trolley structure can have a central portion and first and second wing portions with load bearing wheels for rolling along rigid bearing surfaces of the first and second rails. The bearing surfaces and the wheels can have correspondingly contoured profiles. The trolley structure can have a ventrally disposed alcove. Constant force springs can assist in a travel of the trolley structure in relation to the rail arrangement. • Patent number: 6996895
Abstract: A material application system for applying a panel of material to a framework with a shoe for retaining the framework, a nest, opposed mechanisms for retaining opposite portions of the panel of material traversing between the shoe and the nest, an arrangement for selectively moving the shoe and the nest into and out of an engaged position wherein the panel of material is sandwiched between the shoe and the nest and a disengaged position, and an arrangement for inducing an attachment of the panel of material to the framework. The opposed mechanisms can be clamping mechanisms, which can be segmented and individually moveable to enable variable pretensioning. A contoured deflection control member can alternatively produce variable pretensioning. A pressing arrangement with a tooth member can press a locking spline into a groove in the framework to secure the material.

  • Publication number: 20060000956
Abstract: An extension and retraction arrangement with a trolley structure retained for axial extension and retraction relative to a rail arrangement and a control system with an actuating arrangement and a mechanism for selectively controlling a travel of the trolley structure. In a manual control system, the trolley structure can be mechanically engaged and disengaged in extended and retracted configurations by first and second locking projections respectively. An actuating rod can be actuated by a trigger to pivot the locking projections into and out of engagement with the trolley structure. The trigger can additionally enable a selective release of first and second doors from closed positions. A motorized control system can propel the trolley structure and open and close the doors. A lock and key, an access card and access card reader, or a remote control and remote control receiver can selectively enable operation of the control system.

  • Publication number: 20040216647
Abstract: A table construction with first and second table members with proximal ends and distal ends and with a base structure and at least one support surface retained by the base structure wherein the first and second table members can be disposed in a chevron arrangement, such as by pivoting. Plural support surfaces can be retained by the base structures or a single, generally continuous support surface can be retained by each base structure. The support surfaces can be retained by support arms that can be laterally and vertically pivotable, and the support surfaces can be rotatably retained relative to the support arms. Where a single support surface is retained relative to each table member, proximal edges of the support surfaces can cooperate to define a V-shaped configuration that can be closed by a pivoting of the first table member relative to the second table member.

  • Patent number: 6709059
Abstract: A positioning mechanism is provided that does not require a biasing member to allow adjustment and maintenance of a position. A first member is provided with a channel forming locking positions and a return channel. A second member, slidably movable with respect to the first member, is provided to mount a rotatable cog. The cog interfaces with the channel of the first member to selectively inhibit relative movement between the first and second members without use of a biasing member.

  • Patent number: 6056361
Abstract: An articulated support chair has a frame, a seat cantilevered from the frame, and a back hanging from the frame, with a lower end of the back hinged to an underside of the seat. A lumbar support extends from the seat and pivots to maintain supporting contact as the angles of the seat and back change under varying load conditions. In further embodiments, arm rests may be rigidly coupled below the seat to the back, and a fold-down tablet may be affixed to the frame at one side of the seat. Wedge units assemble in a modular fashion to define straight or different curved or bent rows for waiting room, conference room, or auditorium/theater installations and provide side tables, lockable cabinets, or utility and light bays between adjacent seats. A task chair, a side chair, and tandem chair embodiments are described.
