  • Patent number: 7727617
Abstract: Retroreflective sheeting is described comprising a viewing surface and a non-viewing surface and a thermal mass transferred image disposed in the optical path of the viewing surface wherein the thermal mass transferred image comprises a homogeneous unreactive thermoplastic composition. In one embodiment, the unreactive thermoplastic composition comprises at least one acrylic resin and at least one colorant, wherein the composition has less than 3 wt-% of components that are opaque at ambient temperature. The percent maximum diffuse luminous transmittance to total luminous transmittance of the composition is less than 50%.

  • Publication number: 20100130283
Abstract: A printer on a networked gaming device can be controlled by the network to generate awards. The printer can operate as both a typical printer in a gaming device and as a printer for the gaming network, or separate printers can be installed in the gaming device. If the particular player has identified himself or herself to the gaming network, then the gaming system has a very high probability that it is communicating to a known player. Therefore, the printer operates as a direct communication conduit to a player. Additionally, previously issued awards can be redeemed by a validator coupled to the gaming network.

  • Publication number: 20100124983
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing customized content on a gaming machine configured to generate wager-based games are described. In particular, methods and apparatus are described in which a secondary interface board, coupled to a master gaming controller and one or more communication paths associated with a slot machine interface board, performs various functions. The secondary interface board may be used to extract event information from the one or more communication paths that are used. The event information may be used to effect an operation on the gaming machine. Further, in various embodiments, the SIB may emulate device communications on the one or more communications paths, control devices and communicate with remote devices.

  • Publication number: 20090174755
Abstract: An improved printer and method of printing uses an electrostatic field at the point of ink contact with the print medium to improve ink application. This improved printer and printing method makes possible a higher resolution final image; provides for greater control of the application of ink on the print medium; permits the use of a wider range of inks having variable viscosities, surface tensions, and elasticities; and permits the use of a variety of ink application speeds.

  • Patent number: 7530892
Abstract: The game bonus can be initiated by a reel symbol combination; an example is the initiator symbol that occurs on the base game. In the preferred implementation, the bonus initiator will be a scatter pay on a video slot. Upon hitting the initiator, the game random number generator chooses a value to award and an associated script to display the award based upon a probability and award schedule. The embodiments of display have a play choosing chickens located in cages on a truck. Each chicken awards a value until a chicken with a stopper and a value is chosen. This stopper ends the script and the player is awarded a value.

  • Publication number: 20080175995
Abstract: A system for printing adhesives immerses a wire in a reservoir of adhesive for a period of time sufficient to allow the wire to be coated with the adhesive. The system places the coated wire in close proximity to a designated medium onto which the adhesive will be applied and directs a stream of gas to contact the coated wire and cause at least some of the adhesive on the wire to be deposited onto the designated medium. Two-part ink systems include a fluid and a second material that is microencapsulated in the fluid, a second material that exists as a microemulsion in the fluid, and two fluids that are mixed or combined upon jetting and that react on the print medium.

  • Publication number: 20080174630
Abstract: An improved print head includes a die coating apparatus to die coat the cable. Thus the wire or cable would pass through a die coating apparatus instead of the reservoir of ink described in the above-identified patents. Die coating the cable offers increased control of the amount of ink that adheres to the cable and thus facilitates the production of a high resolution final image on the print medium. Die coating also increases the speed at which an image can be printed on the print medium. Lastly, die coating will enable the print head to be a closed system, minimizing the presence of dirt and dust particles in the ink.

  • Patent number: 7384335
Abstract: In a game bonus initiated by a base game trigger, a plurality of scripts may be chosen randomly. A select script takes a player through a predetermined bonus sequence. The bonus sequence can be located on a video screen, or on a top box. Each script may request player interaction at each let of the current step before moving on to the next step. Each step may have the same value or it may have different values, with the defining difference being on the method of awarding the sum of the values of each step of the script. With multiple scripts associated with the same sum value, it is possible to provide the appearance of luck and/or skill to a player that may never see the same bonus sequence twice and thus would be unable to predict the outcome.

  • Publication number: 20080118638
Abstract: Retroreflective sheeting articles comprising a colorless thermal mass transferred image, methods of thermal mass transfer printing substrate such as polymeric films with a colorless thermal mass transferable composition, and thermal mass transfer ribbon articles comprising a colorless thermal mass transferable composition are described. The thermal mass transfer composition comprises a homogeneous unreactive thermoplastic composition comprising at least one acrylic resin and less than 3 wt-% of components that are opaque at ambient temperature.

  • Publication number: 20080085384
Abstract: An ink receptive article including a substrate having on at least a portion of a major surface thereof an antistatic layer, and wherein the antistatic layer has on at least a portion of a major surface thereof an ink receptive layer, wherein the ink receptive layer includes a crosslinked polymer selected from the group consisting of polyurethanes, polyethers, polyesters, polyacrlylics, polyureas, copolymers thereof, and blends thereof.

  • Patent number: 7278916
Abstract: When a special symbol appears during play of the gaming machine game, the secondary game is initiated. At initiation, a bonus prize is determined by the secondary game microcontroller by consulting a bonus game paytable stored therein where each bonus prize corresponds to a bonus spot on the secondary game. A multi-ended pointer of the secondary game spins around the field of bonus spots and the player is prompted to select which end of the pointer is active. Upon selection of the end—e.g. blue or green—a microcontroller operating the spinner calculates the point at which the spinner will cease to spin so that the selected pointed end is pointing toward the selected bonus prize. The player is given the illusion that he or she controls which bonus prize is won since the green side of the pointer will point to a different bonus prize than the blue side.

  • Patent number: 7056212
Abstract: A secondary game operable on a gaming machine top box includes visual representations of a plurality of bingo cards formed of five columns, each column corresponding to a letter in B-I-N-G-O. The secondary game also includes peripheral spaces on the top box corresponding to each letter on each card. Qualified players, e.g. those making a maximum bet on the base game, cause the secondary game to operate whereby one of the peripheral spaces is selected. A letter causes the column on the card associated with that letter to be lit; however, the cards must be completed sequentially so that the ‘B’ column must be lit before ‘I’ and so forth. Completely filling out one or more of the bingo cards results in a selected award associated with that winning card. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a bonus script is built that predetermines the number of plays made and the bonus amount received. The player then simply plays out the script until the bonus amount is one.
