  • Patent number: 11951365
Abstract: A shim or badge is affixed to a golf club body to produce a cap-back iron, giving the appearance of a hollow-body iron. In this way, the golf club can be manufactured with the performance benefits of a game improvement iron, while providing the appearance of a blade, player's iron, and/or a hollow-body iron. For example, by using a lightweight and rigid shim or badge to close a cavity opening and extend into the toe portion in the golf club body, the golf club head can provide increased stiffness in the topline, while lowering CG. Various shim or badge arrangements and materials can be used, and a filler material and/or damper can be included within the cavity to improve sound and feel, while minimizing loss in COR.

  • Patent number: 11939751
Abstract: A faucet spout mounting system including a faucet spout tube, an inner adapter, and a bushing. The bushing is positioned radially intermediate the outer spout tube and the inner adapter. The inner adapter and the bushing engage to push flexible arms on the bushing against the outer spout tube, thus holding the bushing in place and compensating for tolerances in the spout mounting system.

  • Patent number: 11938067
Abstract: A patient containment system for securing a patient to a patient transport apparatus, comprising a first lower strap and a second lower strap. Each of the first lower strap and the second lower strap have a thigh region, a waist region, and a connection region arranged between the thigh region and the waist region. A first connector is coupled to the connection region of the first lower strap. A second connector is coupled to the connection region of the second lower strap, and is configured to releasably attach to the first connector to at least partially limit movement of the first lower strap relative to the second lower strap. The connection region defines a connection width, and the thigh region defines a thigh width larger than the connection width.

  • Publication number: 20240094969
Abstract: Disclosed is the differential application of scalars to compensate pixel degradation. Input image data is associated with a commanded luminance at each of a plurality of pixels. A degradation value is determined for each pixel. Based on the degradation value, an elevated drive current is determined to produce commanded luminance at the pixel. A required scalar is determined for each pixel to hold the elevated drive current from exceeding a drive current threshold. An applied scalar for each pixel is determined for each pixel to be applied to the elevated drive current. For at least some pixels, the applied scalar for a first pixel is based at least on [I] the required scalar of a second pixel and [2] a spatial relationship between the first pixel and the second pixel. Applied scalars are then used to output corrected imagery.

  • Publication number: 20240078181
Abstract: The described technologies enable a computing device to allocate at least a portion of its persistent memory as volatile memory during runtime. At least some implementations create a file in the persistent memory of the computing device. The file is created in the persistent memory of the computing device during runtime of a virtual machine (VM) hosted by the computing device. The file may be allocated to the VM. The file allocated to the VM may be used as volatile memory. For example, the VM may use the file to store temporary data (e.g., volatile data). In some implementations, the temporary data is associated with an application executing in the VM.

  • Publication number: 20240077514
Abstract: A method comprises receiving a signal from a piezoelectric device and receiving a measurement of a temperature of the piezoelectric device. The method further comprises reading a first parameter from a memory, in which the first parameter depends on the temperature and relates the signal to an acceleration value and reading a second parameter from the memory, in which the second parameter represents a degree of drift of the piezoelectric device at the temperature. The method further comprises determining an acceleration of the piezoelectric device based on the signal, the first parameter, and the second parameter.

  • Publication number: 20240078278
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for aggregating media (and commentary on that media) into a topology. To do so, the system receives first content (and associated metadata) as well as second content (and associated metadata). The system then generates a topology based on a relationship between the first content and the second content, where the topology has a number of dimensions based on the metadata of the different pieces of content. The system then compares the topology and the metadata to previously stored topologies and/or metadata and, based on that comparison, executes a machine learning algorithm. The output of that machine learning algorithm includes predicted future changes to the topology, which the system uses to reduce the number of dimensions within the topology.

  • Patent number: 11918874
Abstract: A damper is provided within the cavity of a golf club head and spans substantially the full length of the striking face from heel-to-toe of the golf club head. One or more cutouts and/or other relief is provided in the damper to reduce the surface area of the damper that contacts the rear surface of the striking face. By reducing the surface area that the damper contacts the rear surface of the striking face, the full length damper improves the sound and feel of the golf club head at impact and only minimally reduces performance of the golf club head. For example, the one or more cutouts and/or other relief maintains face flexibility, characteristic time (CT) and coefficient of restitution (COR) of the striking face.

  • Publication number: 20240071183
Abstract: A payment processing method uses a credit push for completing a transaction at a terminal device. The process can include scanning an optical code at terminal device using a mobile device to determine creditor bank information. A debtor bank server receives the creditor bank information and provides a credit push request to a payment rail. The payment rail communicates a credit payment transaction request to a creditor bank sever. The creditor bank server identifies the terminal device and instructs completion of the transaction at the terminal device in an amount corresponding to the credit push request. The transaction is initiated at the terminal device. An authentication procedure for facilitating the transaction by communicating the creditor bank information is performed by the mobile device and not by the terminal device.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Patent number: 11912636
Abstract: In one embodiment, thermite matches are provided. For instance, thermite matches as described herein may be constructed as a multi-staged formulation comprising an outer ignition tip, an optional inner transition tip, and a bulk fuel thermite stage. The outer ignition tip may comprise an ignition compound that can be struck/scraped against an abrasive counter-chemical surface (e.g., red phosphorous) to initiate the reaction. The outer ignition tip can reach a first burn temperature that can further ignite the inner transition tip stage, which can in turn burn at a temperature that reaches the ignition temperature of the bulk fuel thermite. The high burn temperature of the thermite match may then be used to ignite other materials, such as hard-to-ignite materials, such as a thermite rod for cutting or welding. Other embodiments provide for thermite match handles and a two-piece ignition thermite matches.
