  • Patent number: 8403265
Abstract: Disclosed is an aircraft door including a handle-activated pressure relief system that avoids potentially dangerous pressure differences between the cabin and the atmosphere outside the aircraft. A flow path is created between the inboard and outboard handles on the door. A pressure vent door is located in the flow path. The vent door being is opened when either of the inboard and outboard handle assemblies are activated. Once either handle is rotated beyond a particular point, a spring in the supporting mechanics becomes over-center. At the same time, the vent door comes under the influence of a magnet, snapping the vent open. After the door has been opened, it can be relatched by operating the handles in the reverse direction. The magnet and spring hold the vent door open until the aircraft door is fully latched, sealed, and secured. Only then does the vent door sealingly close.

  • Publication number: 20120137828
Abstract: A vehicle is described having a transmission driven through a propulsion unit such as an engine, and through a CVT. The transmission is comprised of an input shaft and an output shaft which are coaxially disposed. An idler shaft is driven by the input shaft, and the idler shaft drives the output shaft, through selected gear sets, to provide different gear ratios or drive directions. The CVT also has a fan on the driven side which feeds air through the CVT for cooling. The CVT comprises a drive side clutch and a driven side clutch with the output shaft of the extending through the CVT driven clutch.

  • Publication number: 20100221528
Abstract: An extrusion coated article and process to extrusion coat a substrate are disclosed. A blend of LDPE having a MI2 greater than 5 dg/min and m-LLDPE having a MI2 less than 5 dg/min and, by differential scanning calorimetry, at least two melting points is used. Suitable substrates include paper, cardboard, metallized film, and metal foil. The polyolefin layer has a thickness within the range of 2 to 12 microns. A good combination of drawdown, seal strength, and hot tack strength is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20060206522
Abstract: Embodiments herein use a centralized calendar database to store calendar entries for a plurality of entities. Each of the entities has a computing device separate from the centralized calendar database, and each of the computing devices has a graphic user interface. In addition, multiple calendar processors are utilized. Each calendar processor operates within an associated computing device, and each calendar processor is in communication with the centralized calendar database. The calendar processors generate a continuously updated calendar display on a corresponding graphic user interface. The actual calendar entries are stored only in the centralized calendar database, and the calendar entries are not stored locally within the computing device.

  • Patent number: 6444960
Abstract: A method and apparatus for heating a charging unit to an appropriate temperature in a uniform manner is provided. In accordance with one example embodiment of the present invention, a heater for use in a charger includes a base. First and second contacts are disposed on the base. A heating element couples the first contact and the second contact. The heating element has an energy density that increases approximately exponentially from a first energy density at locations distal from the first and second heat sink locations to a relatively higher second energy density at locations proximal to the first and second heat sink locations. The heater, according to further embodiments of the present invention, is disposed on an opposite side of the substrate layer from the AC electrode layer, and underneath the charger.

  • Patent number: 6122620
Abstract: A flight delivery system that utilizes an architectural structure and network that allows real-time digital signals to be stored, retrieved and converted to an audio signal for radio transmission to achieve nearly instantaneous transmission of real-time data. The system, utilizes a computerized reservation system as a source of information and stores it on a database. The information is called up by a computer that converts the data to a digital audio signal. The digital audio signal is then broadcast over airport antennae. The system features programs that allow for a conversion from airport city codes to the common identification for local cities.
