  • Patent number: 10734363
Abstract: Pixelated-LED chips and related methods are disclosed. A pixelated-LED chip includes an active layer with independently electrically accessible active layer portions arranged on or over a light-transmissive substrate. The active layer portions are configured to illuminate different light-transmissive substrate portions to form pixels. Various enhancements may beneficially provide increased contrast (i.e., reduced cross-talk between pixels) and/or promote inter-pixel illumination homogeneity, without unduly restricting light utilization efficiency. In some aspects, a light extraction surface of each substrate portion includes protruding features and light extraction surface recesses. Lateral borders between different pixels are aligned with selected light extraction surface recesses. In some aspects, selected light extraction surface recesses extend through an entire thickness of the substrate. Other technical benefits may additionally or alternatively be achieved.

  • Patent number: 10730069
Abstract: Provided is a replaceable tip for communicating caulking from a reservoir of caulking. The reservoir is defined by a body having an opening and an external surface. The replaceable tip comprises: a) a flange operable to abut the external surface of the body; b) a conduit have a first portion and a second portion, the conduit extending through the flange and operable to enter the reservoir of caulking and operable to communicate caulking from inside the reservoir of caulking to outside the reservoir of caulking; and c) reversible sealing means for reversibly sealing the flange with the external surface of the body. When the reversible sealing means reversibly seals the flange with the external surface of the body, i) the flange prevents the first portion of the conduit from entering the reservoir; and ii) the second portion of the conduit is within the reservoir and aligns the conduit with the opening in the body thereby affecting communication with the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 10698877
Abstract: Implementing a naming service for a hierarchal namespace in a database format. A method includes at a database, wherein the database stores a first table having references to hierarchical nodes in a hierarchical namespace, and a second table with relational references to hierarchical nodes referenced in the first table, detecting an edge modification event changing one or more edges of a node in the hierarchical namespace. The method further includes, as a result, creating a unique row in the second table for the edge modification event in the hierarchical namespace. Any edge modification event results in creation of a unique row in the second table such that different entities can cause overlapping edge modification events that can be documented at the database without transactional conflicts.

  • Patent number: 10693386
Abstract: An improved electronic oscillator circuit suitable for use in an isolating DC-to-DC converter circuit, and an improved isolating DC-to-DC converter circuit. In one embodiment, an integrated circuit coupled to a transformer includes an oscillator and an output driver. The integrated circuit is preferably fabricated using a silicon-on-insulator technology. The oscillator outputs an alternating pulse signal defined by electrical characteristics of components other than the transformer. The alternating pulse signal is coupled to the output driver, the alternating output of which is coupled to corresponding legs of the primary winding of the transformer. The secondary winding of the transformer provides an electromagnetically coupled isolated output which may be rectified and filtered to produce a DC output voltage. Additional functionality, such as current protection circuitry for the improved circuits, may be readily added to the integrated circuit at little or no increase in cost.
