Patent number: 12139661Abstract: In a well in a subterranean formation, treatment fluids for time-released iron control are utilized. These treatment fluids contain a time-released form of a complexing agent or reducing agent, wherein the agent forms a soluble product with iron. The time-released form prevents loss of the agent prior to delivery to the desired site and at the desired time(s). Methods for controlling iron in a well in a subterranean formation utilize these treatment fluids containing a time-released form of a complexing agent or reducing agent and these methods create soluble products when the agent interacts with the iron to control the iron from the formation and/or well.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2023Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: Flex-Chem Holding Company, LLCInventors: Andrew Bryce Conway, Scott Bailey

Patent number: 12060877Abstract: A monitor and control system for a hydraulic fracturing pump is described herein to reduce or eliminate harmful oscillations in fluid discharge pressure caused by the pump load dynamics. The monitor and control system receives various sensor data from the operation of the pump, including the pump crank position, and executes a pump control equation or model based on the pump sensor data, pump load data and/or pump speed data. Pump control equations or models are specific to the design and dynamic operation of the pump, incorporating the number of plungers, pump dynamics, motor lag and motor dynamics, etc. Using the pump control equations or models, the monitor and control system determines control commands for the pump motor to reduce or eliminate the oscillatory discharge pressure at the pump.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2020Date of Patent: August 13, 2024Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Suresh Baddam Reddy, Alexander C. Publication number: 20240267368Abstract: An electricity meter and electricity system or grid that is hardened against attack vectors is described, and provided in part by automated multiple-factor authentication over multiple communication networks. In an example, a utility company may control an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) network to provide internal communications. Metering devices may utilize customer's Wi-Fi to gain access to the internet, allowing electricity consumption data to be transmitted over the internet. Multiple authentication factors are used to prevent a bad actor from impersonating the metering device or cloud server. In an example, each metering device determines a secret, and sends the secret over the AMI network to a utility company server, and which relays the secret to the cloud server. The cloud server uses the secret to establish trust with metering devices. Additionally, the metering devices and the cloud server have signed certificates, which are used in additional authentication processes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2023Publication date: August 8, 2024Inventors: Timothy James Driscoll, Jeffrey Scott Bailey, Christopher Higgins

Patent number: 11299972Abstract: This disclosure describes methods for remediating subterranean-formed metal-polymer complexes in wells in subterranean formations. In particular, these methods utilize a peracetic acid remediation mixture. The peracetic acid remediation mixture is injected into a subterranean formation adjacent to a well at a pressure below the fracture pressure of the formation. A sufficient contact time is allowed and then the peracetic acid remediation mixture is pumped from the subsurface. This has been shown to degrade, and thus remediate, polymer-containing, subterranean-formed metal-polymer complexes in shale formations.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2020Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: Flex-Chem Holding Company, LLCInventors: Andrew Bryce Conway, Scott Bailey
