  • Patent number: 10824484
Abstract: A service manages a plurality of virtual machine instances for low latency execution of user codes. The service can provide the capability to execute user code in response to events triggered on various event sources and initiate execution of other control functions to improve the code execution environment in response to detecting errors or unexpected execution results. The service may maintain or communicate with a separate storage area for storing code execution requests that were not successfully processed by the service. Requests stored in such a storage area may subsequently be re-processed by the service.

  • Patent number: 10650157
Abstract: Facilities are provided to secure guest runtime environments (GREs). Security policy specifications may be associated with GREs. A GRE's security policy may be specific to the GRE and may also include security policy inherited from higher levels such as a host operating environment. The security policy of a GRE specifies restrictions and/or permissions for activities that may be performed within the scope of execution of the GRE. A GRE's security policy may limit what the GRE's guest software may do within the GRE. Restrictions/permissions may be applied to objects such as files, configuration data, and the like. Security specifications may be applied to execution initiated within a GRE. A GRE's security specification may restrict/permit executable objects from loading and executing within the GRE. The executability or accessibility of objects may be conditioned on factors such as the health/integrity of the GRE, the host system, requested files, and others.

Abstract: A ball striking device, such as a golf club head, includes a face having a ball striking surface configured for striking a ball and a body connected to the face and extending rearwardly from the face. The body has an impact-influencing structure in the form of a channel positioned on at least one surface of the body. A majority of a force generated by impact with a ball is absorbed by the impact-influencing structure, and a majority of a response force generated by the head upon impact with the ball is generated by the impact-influencing structure. The face may have increased stiffness as compared to existing faces, and may include a stiffening structure to create the increased stiffness, such as a porous or cellular stiffening structure.

  • Patent number: 10438262
Abstract: A virtual browsing experience may be implemented that allows a user to move a mobile device within a physical environment in order to control browser navigation to different items on an associated display. The virtual browsing experience improves the user's ability to recall where previously-viewed items are located in the virtual browsing environment. In some embodiments, a mobile device may determine its position and/or orientation in a physical environment, and when movement of the mobile device is detected, a user interface on an associated display may digitally navigate through multiple items according to the position and/or orientation of the mobile device. The position and orientation of the mobile device may be determined from position information or data obtained by a sensor device of the mobile device, and appropriate subsets of items can be determined for display based on detected movement of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10380461
Abstract: Approaches introduce a pre-processing and post-processing framework to a neural network-based approach to identify items represented in an image. For example, a classifier that is trained on several categories can be provided. An image that includes a representation of an item of interest is obtained. Rotated versions of the image are generated and each of a subset of the rotated images is analyzed to determine a probability that a respective image includes an instance of a particular category. The probabilities can be used to determine a probability distribution of output category data, and the data can be analyzed to select an image of the rotated versions of the image. Thereafter, a categorization tree can then be utilized, whereby for the item of interest represented the image, the category of the item can be determined. The determined category can be provided to an item retrieval algorithm to determine primary content for the item of interest.
