  • Publication number: 20200104911
Abstract: The disclosed exemplary embodiments include computer-implemented apparatuses and processes that dynamically monitor and profile exchanges of data between network-connected devices and systems. For example, an apparatus may determine a value of a metric characterizing a probability that a first counterparty performs an exchange of exchange in accordance with at least one parameter value during a future temporal interval. The apparatus may also establish a consistency between a triggering criterion associated with the data exchange and at least one of (i) the metric value, (ii) a change in the metric value, or (iii) interaction data that characterizes an interaction between the first counterparty and a second counterparty to the data exchange. In response to the established consistency, the apparatus may generate and transmit to a device a signal that causes a application program executed by the device to present a representation of the metric value within a digital interface.

  • Patent number: 10577305
Abstract: A process for making methyl esters in high yields. The process comprises contacting aliphatic or aromatic aldehydes and methanol with a homogeneous dimeric ruthenium catalyst, to catalyze the dehydrogenative coupling between aliphatic or aromatic aldehydes and methanol. The reaction is highly selective (<99.9%) toward the formation of methyl esters over homoesters and alcohols and operates at temperatures of less than 100° C. for 2-8 hours.

  • Patent number: 10570081
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for recovering formic acid from a formate ester of a C3 to C4 alcohol. Disclosed is also a process for producing formic acid by carbonylating a C3 to C4 alcohol, hydrolyzing the formate ester of the alcohol, and recovering a formic acid product. The alcohol may be dried and returned to the reactor. The process enables a more energy efficient production of formic acid than the carbonylation of methanol to produce methyl formate.

  • Patent number: 10544077
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for recovering formic acid from a formate ester that allows for recovery of a formic acid product comprising greater than 75 wt. % formic acid. Disclosed is also a process for producing formic acid by carbonylating a carrier alcohol, hydrolyzing the formate ester of the carrier alcohol, and recovering a formic acid product comprising greater than 70 wt. % formic acid. Discloses are carrier alcohols that enable more favorable hydrolysis equilibriums and/or distillation sequences.

  • Patent number: 10435349
Abstract: A process for preparing a variety of secondary and tertiary alkyl formate esters via the coupling of methanol and secondary (or tertiary) alcohols. Iron-based catalysts, supported by pincer ligands, are employed to produce these formate esters in high yields and unprecedentedly high selectivities (>99%). Remarkably, the coupling strategy is also applicable to bulkier tertiary alcohols, which afford corresponding tertiary formate esters in moderately high yields and high selectivities.

  • Patent number: 10423775
Abstract: Entities of an organization may have difficulties generating and remembering strong passwords. A password management service may generate passwords with high entropy and aid entities in remembering generated passwords. The password management service may generate a list of passwords based on a seed value provided by the entities. The entities may then select a password from the list of passwords to be used at the entities' password. Furthermore, the entities may be allowed to save the list of passwords to aid the entities in remembering their selected password from the list of passwords.

  • Patent number: 10388684
Abstract: An image sensor package may include a semiconductor wafer having a pixel array, a color filter array (CFA) formed over the pixel array, and one or more lenses formed over the CFA. A light block layer may couple over the semiconductor wafer around a perimeter of the lenses and an encapsulation layer may be coupled around the perimeter of the lenses and over the light block layer. The light block layer may form an opening providing access to the lenses. A mold compound layer may be coupled over the encapsulation layer and the light block layer. A temporary protection layer may be used to protect the one or more lenses from contamination during application of the mold compound and/or during processes occurring outside of a cleanroom environment.
