Publication number: 20240059575Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed in which ammonia may be recovered efficiently from wastewater through the application of the mass-transfer reaction kinetic model. The recovery process may involve the stripping of NH3 from wastewater by aeration and the absorption of this stripped NH3 gas into a recovery solution by utilizing stoichiometric acid-base reactions and the operating parameters optimized by the model which facilitate both processes. Another step may be performed in which saturated solution comprising the recovered NH3 may be further evaporated and liquefy to produce a pure bioammonia product. Applying the mass-transfer reaction kinetic to the recovery can not only enhance the NH3 removal and recovery yield but also increase the NH3 removal and recovery rate. Numerous operating parameters can be adjusted to maximize the recovery yield and recovery rate.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Applicants: Circular Upcycling, Figure 8 EnvironmentalInventors: Ken Tasaki, Scott Harrison

Patent number: 11551504Abstract: A system and method for creating a mixed consumable item may include displaying a first set of selectable indicia on a touchscreen, where the indicia may be (i) indicative of respective consumable ingredients and (ii) distinctly positioned relative to one another. A swype gesture may be received from a user via the touchscreen that forms a path extending between a first position and a second position that touches or passes close to multiple selectable indicia. From the first set of consumable ingredients, a plurality of combinations of consumable ingredients most likely to have been intended to be selected by the user based on the path of the swype gesture may be predicted. Selectable predicted combinations of consumable ingredients may be displayed on the touchscreen to enable one of the selectable combinations of consumable ingredients to be selected by the user for mixing by a dispenser of consumable items.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2017Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: The Coca-Cola CompanyInventors: Joshua Schwarber, Kyusang Kim, Scott Cuppari, Scott Harrison, Franchot Chang, Hitesh Patel

Publication number: 20190352238Abstract: Systems and methods for collecting and processing livestock waste to facilitate the reclamation of water used in such processes and likewise produce fertilizer/soil amendments. Animal waste is initially collected, mixed with water and sequentially processed whereby large fibers present in the waste are separated, and the resultant manure sludge effluent. The manure sludge effluent may be treated with ultrasound, enzymatic pretreatment, aeration and/or polymers to promote coagulation and flocculation. A solids separation step is then performed to facilitate the separation of water and isolation of solids, the latter of which are formed into manure cakes and ultimately fertilizer/soil amendment products. The separated water is purified for reuse while further generating a nutrient concentrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2018Publication date: November 21, 2019Applicant: FIGURE 8, INC.Inventors: SCOTT HARRISON, SCOTT SEVERSON, ANDY ITURRIRIA
