  • Patent number: 8223948
Abstract: A multi-tiered communication system for minimizing communication latency for a caller in a remote location who initiates contact with a local data center. The system includes a local data center located in a first location including one or more Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) functions that are configured for use with a caller who initiates contact with the local data center. The system also includes a remote media server located in a second location. The remote media server is configured to route an incoming call from the caller to the local data center, to route one or more IVR messages to the caller and to connect the caller with an agent for real-time communication. The agent is located in one of the second location or a third location that is substantially closer to the second location than the first location.

  • Patent number: 8007059
Abstract: A contraband barrier on a mounting surface for use on an intensive use furniture component providing a sealing connection between the mounting surface and a floor or wall to prevent liquid from seeping under or behind the furniture component and discourage hiding contraband between the floor or wall and the mounting surface. The furniture component is formed by an outer shell having a side wall extending generally perpendicular to the mounting surface. A mounting flange is disposed adjacent the sidewall. A bolt hole is formed in the mounting flange. The sealing connection comprises a caulk channel formed as a channel in the mounting surface for receiving a bead of caulk to fill the seam between the mounting surface and the wall or floor to prevent fluid from seeping past the caulk channel to a space adjacent the interior mounting surface.

  • Publication number: 20110198458
Abstract: A tamper resistant adjustable glide assembly for furniture is disclosed that comprises a foot, a stem and an insert connected to a leg of the furniture. The foot having a having a top and a bottom, the bottom adapted to engage a floor surface. A stem mount on the top of the foot to provide an adjustable attachment to a first end of the stem. The stem having a second end spaced from the top of the foot and a threaded portion intermediate the first end and the second end. An insert captured on the stem. The insert threadably engaged to the stem by a generally cylindrical body with a threaded passage extending through the body adapted to matingly engage the threaded portion of the stem. A cap fixed on the second end of the stem to capture the insert. The insert disposed in a generally vertical passageway formed in the furniture and fixed therein to secure the glide assembly to the leg. The insert recessed into the leg to prevent prying or forcible removal without destruction of the furniture.

  • Publication number: 20020136883
Abstract: A “flexible filtering filling material”, of pieces that are 100% open cell reticulated polyurethane foam. The pieces filter out the damp warm condition within the filling, haltering the proliferation of microorganisms, giving the product a more sanitary and longer life.

  • Patent number: 5671386
Abstract: A system having N access channels, M individual disk storage arrays, a commutator for connecting each of the access channels to each of the storage arrays; and a control unit for causing the commutator to connect each of the access channels to each of the storage arrays. The disk storage arrays are capable of storing contiguous segments of a data block. In the case of movies, each segment includes, for example, a few seconds of each relevant movie. The commutator connects the access channels to the disk storage arrays in a manner whereby each of the access channels has access to all of the data. The system is such that each access channel can receive data at the maximum system bandwidth. In addition, data can be written into the storage arrays by one access channel, while another of the access channels is receiving data, both at the maximum system bandwidth.
