  • Patent number: 7058354
Abstract: Described are a system and method for encouraging communication over a network between participants engaged in a learning activity. A communication channel is opened over the network between participants. An objective shared by the participants is presented. Cooperative interaction between the participants is required to complete the objective. Content related to the objective is displayed to each participant of the learning activity. Messages are exchanged in real-time between the participants over the communication channel to allow the participants to progress cooperatively towards completing the objective. Input from one of the participants of the learning activity is received. The input represents an action taken in response to the exchanged messages. The content displayed to the participants is dynamically updated based on the action taken by one of the participants during the learning activity, to depict progress towards the objective.

  • Publication number: 20050049126
Abstract: A multi-function end effector includes a plurality of tool change mechanisms in a housing in which a spindle is also mounted for translation along an axis of the spindle. Each tool change mechanism has a gripper that releasably grips a tool holder in which a tool is mounted. The gripper of each tool change mechanism is movable between a stowed position to a tool-change position in which the gripper is coaxially aligned with the axis of the spindle for placing a tool holder held in the gripper in a position to be received by the spindle and for positioning the gripper to receive a tool holder from the spindle. The tools mounted in the tool holders include a drill bit, a countersink tool, and a fastener insertion tool. The end effector also includes a fastener feed system, a hammer device, and a sealant applicator.

  • Publication number: 20030226068
Abstract: This specification for a ‘run time’ software engine provides a ‘new’ method for control systems interface creation and execution. This custom engine has an integrated object designing method which gives a ‘designer’ or ‘user’ the ability to manipulate graphical and functional properties of each control ‘object’ at ‘run time’ . . . there is no compiling, re-compiling, or separate application that is required. This method also allows the created object to be tested at ‘run time’ using an integrated ‘debugger’ and parameter parsing ‘software logic engine’ without switching into a ‘mode’. The software logic engine, software graphics engine, software editor, and software debugger are combined in one software engine . . .
