Patent number: 11965348Abstract: A stanchion surrounding assembly includes a first plate that has a first recess integrated into a first engaging edge of the first plate. The first recess accommodates a stanchion to inhibit vegetation from growing around the stanchion. A second plate has a second recess integrated into a second engaging edge of the second plate. The second recess accommodates the stanchion to inhibit vegetation from growing around the stanchion. The second plate engages the first plate when the first plate and the second plate are positioned against the stanchion. In this way each of the first plate and the second plate forms a disk surrounding the stanchion.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2021Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Inventor: Scott Russell

Patent number: 11912279Abstract: Systems and methods for limiting functionality of a vehicle are described. In one example, vehicle feature modules may specify vehicle behaviors and vehicle operation is limited according to the specified behaviors. Vehicle actuators may be adjusted to limit vehicle operation according to the specified vehicle behaviors. The vehicle behaviors may apply to powertrain systems, navigation systems, climate control systems, lighting systems and other vehicle systems.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2021Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Scott Thompson, David Hancock, Scott Christensen, John Rollinger, Jeremy Russell, Jeffrey Tumavitch, Dennis Light, David Schmitt

Patent number: 11859715Abstract: A transmission is shifted into a reverse state. The transmission includes a clutch. The clutch includes a pocket plate, a notch plate, a first strut housed within a pocket of the pocket plate, and a second strut housed within another pocket. A command is received to shift the transmission to reverse. It is then determined whether the at least one second strut has retracted into the pocket plate. If it remains extended, the first actuator is activated. A first rotational torque is applied to the notch plate in a direction allowing the notch plate to abut the first strut. By doing so, the second strut is released from abutting engagement with the notch plate. A second rotational torque is applied to the notch plate opposite the first rotational torque to rotate the notch plate out of engagement with the first strut, resulting in the transmission entering the reverse state.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2022Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: Sigma Powertrain, Inc.Inventors: Graham Scott Russell, R. William Davis, Daniel E. Knieper, John W. Kimes

Publication number: 20230336973Abstract: An application for mobile devices that enables a server device to control multiple client devices with numerous features and capabilities relevant to both server and client devices, such as learning gamification and safety controls. Running on popular operating systems, this application is compatible with other mobile applications and provides a mechanism for the server device to override internal controls on one or more client devices with ability to configure access controls based on gamification features using parameters that include but not limited to applications, programs, goals, and rewards. This application includes safety and security control features that enables the server device to remotely monitor and control one or more client devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2023Publication date: October 19, 2023Inventor: Scott Russell Schultz

Patent number: 11788586Abstract: A method selectively locks a notch plate to a pocket plate such that the notch and pocket plates rotate together. The pocket plate includes struts that work in opposite directions. The pocket plate rotational speed and the notch plate rotational speed are identified. Once the notch plate rotational speed is close to the pocket plate rotational speed, the struts in one direction are activated. Once seated, the struts in the other direction are activated. This two-step engagement of the struts provides a smoother transition between clutch engagements (gear shifts) while not requiring the precision of having all struts activated at the same time.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2022Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: Sigma Powertrain, Inc.Inventors: R. William Davis, Graham Scott Russell, Daniel E. Knieper, John W. Kimes

Patent number: 11499835Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for image assisted delivery. A computing device may receive a first image from a first client device and a second image from a second client device. The computing device match a location in the first image to a location in the second image. The computing device may subsequently determine a characteristic of a package in the second image and determine that the characteristic of the package corresponds to package information of an order. Then, the computing device may confirm a delivery of the package.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2020Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Wesley Scott Lauka, Lara Chatterjee Rogers, Kristopher William Bell, Ryan Scott Russell, Alwin Yu-Hang Lee

Publication number: 20220349180Abstract: A panelized system for structural decking systems. The panelized system has a plurality of joists operatively coupled together through one or more decking panels. In order to aid in resisting rollover (e.g., the joists rotating with respect to the decking panels and/or support members during installation) bracing members may be utilized. A bracing member may be operatively coupled to a joist (e.g., a lower chord of a joist, web, upper chord, or the like) and to the decking panel (e.g., location on the decking between two joists, such as the mid-point of decking between two joists, or the like). In this way, the joists may be supported directly to the decking instead of having to run cross-bracing (e.g., x-shaped, or the like) between each of the joists. Once the panelized system is assembled on the ground, the panelized system may be lifted into place and assembled to a building.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2022Publication date: November 3, 2022Applicant: Verco Decking, Inc.Inventors: Patrick Allen Bodwell, Scott A. Patent number: 11358511Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward a storage compartment vehicle (“SCV”) for use in the transport of items for delivery to one or more customers and/or retrieval of items from one or more customers. The SCV may include a plurality of storage compartments that are individually accessible, each of which can contain one or more items. The SCV may navigate to a delivery location and customers may retrieve ordered items from the storage compartments of the SCV. Likewise, customers may return items into storage compartments of the SCV.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2020Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Wicksell Metellus, Kristopher William Bell, Julius Chen, Wesley Scott Lauka, Ryan Scott Russell

Publication number: 20220048731Abstract: A safety device for a path that is traversed to enter a region in which danger to an individual is heightened due to operation of a machine includes at least one sensor installed along the path so as to detect the individual thereat, which compels the sensor to generate a signal. A lockout mechanism is deployed that compels the machine into a non-operational state in response to receiving the signal from the sensor. The lockout mechanism ensures the machine remains in the non-operational state when the signal from the sensor is removed therefrom. A reset circuit is deployed that, in response to activation thereof, compels the lockout mechanism to allow the machine into the operational state from the non-operational state.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2020Publication date: February 17, 2022Applicant: Elevator Industry Work Preservation FundInventor: H. Publication number: 20210315680Abstract: Embolic protection elements are integrated with a catheter or access sheath for any catheter. A catheter with an integrated embolic protection element comprises a catheter shaft, an embolic filter slidably mounted on a distal portion of the shaft, a proximal stop for limiting the proximal movement of the embolic filter, and a distal stop for limiting the distal movement of the embolic filter. The filter comprises a porous mesh material defining a collection chamber for captured emboli and has a collapsed and a deployed configuration. The filter may be collapsed by an access sheath used with the catheter. An access sheath may comprise a tubular main body and an embolic filter mounted on the distal portion of the tubular main body. The embolic filter may evert into the central lumen of the sheath or may be constrained on the exterior of the sheath with a larger diameter outer tube.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2021Publication date: October 14, 2021Applicant: Emboline, Inc.Inventors: Scott Russell, Amir Belson
