  • Patent number: 9818083
Abstract: A reader system and an imaging device are provided. The reader system is configured to read a tag attached to an item at a location relative to a barcode. The barcode is associated with the item. Once the reader system identifies the tag, the imaging device uses the placement of the tag and/or features of the tag to identify and read the barcode. The imaging device may also identify the tag. Once the barcode is identified, the barcode and the tag are associated.

  • Patent number: 9811955
Abstract: A wearable RFID device may include one or more manually activated RFID tags configured to transmit unique RFID signals in response to a manual activation thereof. Such wearable RFID devices may be worn about any aspect of a user's body, such as a hand, a wrist or an arm of the user, who may contact the manually activated RFID tag and transmit an RFID signal that is consistent with a particular action or instruction associated with a task. The action or the instruction may be executed based on the RFID signal, or upon receiving a confluence or sequence of RFID signals. Additionally, a wearable RFID device may be recognized by one or more discrete systems and configured to operate such systems accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20170293968
Abstract: Aspects of tag-based product monitoring and evaluation are described. In one embodiment, a system directs a tag reader to interrogate an RFID tag provided on a product package for a product. In response, the system receives a unique identifier, product detail data, and product usage data from the RFID tag. In certain cases, the system can place an order for the product on an electronic commerce platform based on the unique identifier, the product detail data, and the product usage data. For example, the system can identify when the product package was opened with reference to the product usage data, determine that the product is expired based on when the product package was opened, and place the order for the product based on the product being expired.

  • Patent number: 9734367
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for verifying that items have been correctly retrieved to fulfill orders or shipments. A plurality of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags are energized with an electromagnetic field emitted from an RFID reader, wherein individual ones of the RFID tags include a sensor. Motion data is reported by the RFID tags and detected via the RFID reader. • Patent number: 9715606
Abstract: Aspects of tag-based product monitoring and evaluation are described. In one embodiment, a system instructs a tag reader to transmit an electromagnetic field and receives a plurality of unique identifiers for a plurality of products from a plurality of tags in response to the electromagnetic field. The plurality of tags may be provided on a plurality of product packages for the plurality of products. The system also identifies the plurality of products using the plurality of unique identifiers and identifies whether a product package of at least one of the plurality of products has been opened based on the plurality of unique identifiers or the product detail data. The system may alert a user as to whether one or more product packages have been opened before purchasing.

  • Patent number: 9710134
Abstract: A list of contacts or other files displayed on a computer device may be customized such that an order of the list, or a visual appearance of one or more of the files in the list, may indicate the extent of a user's behavior or activity with regard to the one or more files. The list may be reordered based on the frequency or recency of events associated with such behavior or activity, thereby causing more frequently or recently accessed files to be ranked higher in a list, and less frequently or recently accessed files to be ranked lower in the list. Additionally, an aspect of the appearances of the files in the list may be modified to reflect a frequency or recency with which events associated with one or more of the files have occurred.

  • Patent number: 9613338
Abstract: In some examples, a reader system is provided for managing inventory items in an inventory system. The reader system may be configured to read tags associated with items stowed in an inventory holder. The inventory holder may be detachably coupled to a mobile drive unit. The mobile drive unit may move the inventory holder to a first position near an antenna of the reader system and the tags may begin to be read. While reading or at other times in the reading process, the mobile drive unit may move the inventory holder relative to the antenna. The identified tags may be compared to a manifest list of items expected to be stowed in the inventory holder.

  • Patent number: 9589162
Abstract: An inventory system can include radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and RFID tuners that can be brought into interacting proximity with one another to provide input or other information about the location or other condition of movable elements within the inventory system. For example, a closed or at least partially open state of a drawer can be determined based on signals from an RFID tag when the RFID tag and a corresponding RFID tuner are mounted on opposing faces of the drawer and a compartment that receives the drawer.

  • Publication number: 20170042659
Abstract: Embolic protection elements are integrated with a catheter or access sheath for any catheter. A catheter with an integrated embolic protection element comprises a catheter shaft, an embolic filter slidably mounted on a distal portion of the shaft, a proximal stop for limiting the proximal movement of the embolic filter, and a distal stop for limiting the distal movement of the embolic filter. The filter comprises a porous mesh material defining a collection chamber for captured emboli and has a collapsed and a deployed configuration. The filter may be collapsed by an access sheath used with the catheter. An access sheath may comprise a tubular main body and an embolic filter mounted on the distal portion of the tubular main body. The embolic filter may evert into the central lumen of the sheath or may be constrained on the exterior of the sheath with a larger diameter outer tube.

  • Patent number: 9552569
Abstract: Techniques for providing a removable and reusable tracking device feature in an inventory management system may be described. For example, an inventory transfer request may be received for transferring inventory within a facility. A first indication may be received that indicates one or more reusable tracking devices are associated with the inventory included in the inventory transfer request. Information about the inventory transfer request may be mapped to the association of the one or more reusable tracking devices and the inventory. In an embodiment, a location of the inventory may be determined based on location information provided by the associated one or more reusable tracking devices. The mapping between the inventory transfer information to the one or more reusable tracking devices and the inventory may be removed based at least in part on the location information indicating that the inventory is located at a particular location within the facility.

  • Patent number: 9542823
Abstract: Aspects of tag-based product monitoring and evaluation are described. In one embodiment, an arrangement includes a product package and one or more tags with the product package. At least one of the tags may include a memory that stores a unique identifier, product detail data, and product usage data for the product, a continuity trace that extends across an access covering of the product package, a radio frequency front end configured to be excited by an electromagnetic field, and a tag processor configured to detect a continuity of the continuity trace and identify whether the product package has been opened based on the continuity. When excited in the presence of the electromagnetic field, the tag is configured to transmit a continuity status indicator regarding whether the product package has been opened. In this case, a purchaser may be alerted as to whether the product package has been opened before purchasing.
