  • Publication number: 20120191311
Abstract: In order to avoid a sudden jerk when a vehicle is parked on a slope and its parking pawl engages with a toothed wheel on the transmission output shaft, a method is performed that detects that the vehicle's gear selector has been put into its parking mode and then gradually reduces the brake force until the vehicle starts moving. If the vehicle stops, the brake force will slowly be further reduced until the vehicle has reached its final position.

  • Publication number: 20120047988
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system provides for accurately measuring and calibrating liquid products dispensed from a dispenser. A liquid diluent enters an aspirator assembly (12). A liquid product is drawn from a product container through a flow meter (36) into the aspirator assembly (12), wherein liquid product and diluent are mixed to dispense at the outlet of the aspirator (14). The flow meter (36) monitors the amount of liquid product drawn into and dispensed from the aspirator (14).

  • Publication number: 20120048307
Abstract: A method and system provides for dispensing incompatible products. Separate aspirator assemblies (12A and 12B) are connected in fluid communication with a single liquid diluent source (54). A first set of liquid products (48A-51A) are drawn through aspirator assembly (12A) and a second set of liquid products (48B-51B) having a product incompatible with the first set are drawn through another aspirator assembly (12B). • Publication number: 20110268901
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for making sulfonated block copolymers and to methods for making membranes from such block copolymers. In particular, the present invention relates to an improved method for making sulfonated block copolymers having at least two polymer end blocks that are resistant to sulfonation and at least one polymer interior block that is susceptible to sulfonation where the sulfonation agent is C2 to C8 acyl sulfate. In the improved process the residual carboxylic acid formed from the C2 to C8 acyl sulfate is converted to C1 to C4 alkyl esters by contacting the residual carboxylic acid with at least a 0.9:1 molar ratio of a C1 to C4 alcohol to residual carboxylic acid, resulting in an improved sulfonated block copolymer solution. The present invention further relates to the use of such sulfonated block copolymer solutions to prepare various membranes and other articles.

  • Patent number: 8033618
Abstract: In an optimized hydraulic brake system, a pedal travel sensor is used to improve pedal feel. In order to improve pedal feel, a low pressure is detected in the brake booster and the brake hydraulic system is used to increase wheel pressure.
