  • Publication number: 20160292726
Abstract: Generating a unique client configuration unit (CCU) program user interface for each participant user device. A CCU program generator module generates each CCU program, which is defined by attributes and rules selected via an administrator user interface (AUI). The CCU program is optionally defined by personalization, marketing, and/or targeting rules. A participant user interface (PUI) module identifies participant user devices of the CCU programs and provides identified participant user devices access to their unique CCU program. A processor executes processor-executable instructions comprising the AUI module, the PUI module, and the CCU program generator module to generate the CCU program of each identified participant user device.

  • Patent number: 9446407
Abstract: The invention provides a lid mechanism suitable for use with automated instrumentation. The lid mechanism has a compact design enabling it to function in very small spaces, and therefore on very compact instrumentation. One embodiment of the lid mechanism has a nut positioned around a jackscrew; a motor translationally attached to the nut for driving rotational motion of the nut around the jackscrew and vertical motion of the jackscrew; a main shaft positioned around the jackscrew with a bearing support positioned on the main shaft; a moving support comprising a bearing guide track and positioned on the main shaft so that the bearing support is positioned within the bearing guide track; and a lid plate positioned on the moving support so that vertical movement of the moving support causes vertical movement of the lid plate and rotational movement of the moving support causes rotational movement of the lid plate. Also provided is an automated laboratory instrument having a lid mechanism of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20160261713
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for selecting a cloud provider for a virtual machine deployment. In one implementation, a processing device receives a request to launch a deployment of a virtual machine. The processing device identifies a set of two or more cloud providers, and determines a first subset of the set of cloud providers satisfying a requirement for the deployment of the virtual machine. A ranked list of cloud providers in the first subset is determined in view of a priority ranking criterion, and a probability distribution is generated in view of the ranked list. A cloud provider from the first subset is selected in view of the probability distribution, and the virtual machine is deployed in a cloud computing system of the selected cloud provider.

  • Publication number: 20160148252
Abstract: Technologies for attributing payment vehicle purchase events to online activity include a profiler computing system for receiving purchase information associated with a purchase event by a purchaser. The profiler computing system compares the received purchase information to a profile data store to identify a purchaser profile associated with the purchaser. Payment vehicle data and a tracking element are associated with the identified purchaser profile. The purchaser profile can be generated based on purchase information associated with an initial purchase event by the purchaser. The profiler computing system determines whether to attribute the purchase event to online activity of the purchaser based on previous online exposure data associated with the tracking element. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9344521
Abstract: A server computer system receives a request to launch a deployment and determines a set of matches from a pool of cloud providers that meets minimum requirements for the deployment. The server computer identifies a selection criteria comprising priority ranking criteria and probability ranking criteria for the deployment. The server computer then determines one of the cloud providers for the deployment from the set of matches based on the priority ranking criteria and the probability ranking criteria.

  • Publication number: 20150058460
Abstract: A system and method for storing role definitions for cloud provider systems, receiving a first request to assign a user to a first role specifying a first cloud computing resource of a respective resource type, identifying a role definition corresponding to the first role that includes an action set permitted, and creating the first role for the user on the first cloud computing resource by associating the identified role definition with the first cloud computing resource and the user. A second request to assign the user to a second role is received specifying a second cloud computing of the respective resource type, and the second role is created for the user on the second cloud computing resource, where the identified role definition corresponds to the first and second roles, and wherein creating the second role includes associating the identified role definition with the first cloud computing resource and the user.

  • Publication number: 20140373785
Abstract: Systems are provided that include one or more retractable deposition source assemblies that eliminate the need for a bellows, but do not require breaking the ultra-high vacuum of a growth module for source replacement or recharging with deposition material. Systems of the present invention may include source heads that allow for a differential pumping option that provides marked improvement in base pressure around the source head (and material) that provides longer lifetimes for sources in corrosive, reactive or oxidizing environments. In addition, systems of the invention do not require an entire growth module to be vented to refill or repair an effusion source. Instead, for maintenance events that are tied to a specific source, a retractable source assembly of the present invention allows the sources to be withdrawn from the system, isolated from the growth environment, and removed without venting the entire chamber of the growth module.

  • Patent number: 8909554
Abstract: A programmable feature such as a software upgrade, updated print driver, new process, etc. is remotely delivered to an output device, such as a printer. First, the customer tenders payment for the feature. Next, the customer is provided with a coupon. The customer subsequently redeems the coupon and receives the requested feature in the form of a feature key in response to redeeming the coupon. The customer uses the feature key to install the feature on the output device. The feature key may be a print job that contains encrypted text. Security measures may be provided to ensure that the coupon and feature key are valid, such as requiring the customer to use a pre-designated decryption key on the feature key before the feature is installed on the output device.
