  • Patent number: 11511477
Abstract: A flexible packaging laminate has built-in opening/reclose and tam per-evidence features by forming the laminate from an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation to an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting a flap or the like out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate. The outer score line includes at least one tear portion that is torn through upon initial opening, thus indicating the package has been at least partially opened.

  • Publication number: 20220373192
Abstract: A water heater system includes a controller configured to integrate control of both recovery and recirculation operations of a recovery pump and a recirculation pump. As such, a separate device, installation location, and power source (e.g., available outlet) is not needed with the controller. Because a single controller is configured to control both recovery and recirculation operations, additional control functions are available. The controller may be in communication with an internal controller of the water heater and configured to receive an error notification upon abnormal operation of the water heater. The controller can stop recovery and recirculation operations in response to an error notification, unlike with traditional water heating systems which may otherwise continue to function. The recovery and recirculation operations are based on a setpoint temperature of the water heater such that changes made to the setpoint temperature will automatically adjust in the recovery and recirculation operations.

  • Publication number: 20220364463
Abstract: A communication system employed during wellbore operations, such as during drilling, cementing, fracturing, or other wellbore operations, which utilizes ultrasound (i.e., acoustic waves characterized by ultrasonic frequencies) to communicate sensor and/or control information from inside a riser and/or blowout preventer (BOP) to outside the riser/BOP, and/or vice versa. More specifically, the communication system may include an internal ultrasonic module (IUM) residing inside the riser/BOP and acoustically coupled to a drill string and/or a centralizer also inside the riser/BOP. The communication system may further include an external ultrasonic module (EUM) residing outside the riser/BOP and acoustically coupled to the riser/BOP.

  • Patent number: 11499472
Abstract: Electric multiple stage variable forced air induction systems are disclosed herein. A housing defines a conduit therethrough with an exit (output) opening and an entry (intake) opening. The exit opening is to couple to and provide airflow to an air intake opening of a combustion engine. The entry opening is to receive air for delivery through the conduit to the exit opening. A plurality of stages generate thrust to increase airflow through the conduit and to the air intake opening of the combustion engine. Each stage can comprise a turbine housing component, a turbine rotor to rotate about an axis and generate thrust on air as it passes through the conduit in a direction parallel to the axis, and a motor coupled to and configured to turn the turbine rotor. One or more processing devices receive inputs indicating engine parameters and control the motor of each stage.

  • Publication number: 20220358982
Abstract: A non-volatile memory includes resistive cells, write circuitry, and write detect circuitry. Each resistive cell has a resistive storage element and is coupled to a corresponding first column line and corresponding second column line. The write circuitry is configured to provide a write current through a resistive storage element of a selected resistive memory cell during a write operation based on an input data value. The write detect circuitry is configured to generate a reference voltage using a voltage at the corresponding first column line coupled to the selected resistive memory cell at an initial time of the write operation, and, during the write operation, after the initial time, provide a write detect signal based on a comparison between the voltage at the corresponding first column line coupled to the selected resistive memory cell and the reference voltage, wherein the input data value is based on the write detect signal.

  • Publication number: 20220352640
Abstract: This document describes techniques, apparatuses, and systems for a multi-layer air waveguide with layer-to-layer connections. Each pre-formed layer of the air waveguide is attached to at least one other pre-formed layer by a mechanical interface. The mechanical interface may be a stud-based interface, a snap fastener-based interface, a ball-and-socket based interface, or a pressure contact interface utilizing irregular roughed surfaces of each pre-formed layer. The mechanical interfaces of the pre-formed layers structurally hold the air waveguide together and electrically couple all of the pre-formed layers. In this manner, the cost of manufacturing the air waveguide antennas may be less expensive than previous manufacturing processes.
