  • Publication number: 20250104095
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for tracking, via a blockchain registry, carbon credits in goods produced from materials with sequestered carbon. Materials with sequestered carbon may be produced by reacting greenhouse gases with air and other reagents and catalysts (including biological organisms). Following production of a batch of material with sequestered carbon, a blockchain entry may be recorded with production details and details of carbon-credits earned during production. The carbon-sequestering material may later be converted into products, each of which may have a unique product identifier. A blockchain entry may be recorded with the unique product identifiers such that an owner of a unit of product can obtain, from the blockchain registry, a verified amount of carbon-credit associated with that unit.

  • Publication number: 20250092251
Abstract: The present specification generally relates to a composition for the manufacture of bio-degradable, bio-compostable, ocean degradable, biocompatible articles that contain a bio-based thermoplastic component. In particular, it has been found, in accordance with the practice of this invention, that marked improvement in tensile strength, toughness and elongation of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) can be achieved by dispersing in the PHA an amorphous PHA and then optionally coupling the dispersed amorphous PHA. The polyhydroxyalkanoate/amorphous polyhydroxyalkanoate blends of the present invention comprise from 70-97.5 percent by weight of the PHA, from 2.5-30 percent by weight of the amorphous PHA can be used to produce a wide array of articles.

  • Publication number: 20250083431
Abstract: A recyclable structure and methods of recycling are provided herein. A recyclable structure for use in packaging comprises a paper layer, and a polymeric film layer. An adhesive layer adhesively joins the paper layer and the polymeric layer. The adhesive layer comprises an acrylic or a urethane adhesive. The recyclable structure 85% by subjecting the structure to mechanical stresses and repulping. The adhesive layer has a greater affinity for the polymeric film layer than the paper layer. Upon repulping the adhesive layer is mostly separated from the fibers within the paper layer.

  • Publication number: 20250084470
Abstract: A method for detecting a gene fusion includes amplifying a nucleic acid sample in the presence of primer pool to produce a plurality of amplicons. The primer pool includes primers targeting a plurality of exon-exon junctions of a driver gene. The amplicons correspond to the exon-exon junctions. The amplicons are sequenced and aligned to a reference sequence. The number of reads corresponding to each amplicon is normalized to give a normalized read count. A baseline correction is applied to the normalized read counts for the amplicons to form corrected read counts. A binary segmentation score is calculated for each corrected read count. A predicted breakpoint for the gene fusion is determined based on the amplicon index corresponding to the maximum absolute binary segmentation score. Gene fusion events may be detected in a partner agnostic manner, i.e. without prior knowledge of the specific fusion partner genes or specific breakpoint information.
