  • Patent number: 9579443
Abstract: A peritoneal dialysis system includes a base peritoneal dialysis system and a peritoneal dialysis fluid exchange system that operates independently of the base system. The base system includes a first cassette including a first patient line configured to be connected to a patient, and a PD cycler. The PD cycler receives the first cassette, and includes a pump that cooperates with the first cassette to deliver dialysate to and drain dialysate from a peritoneal cavity of the patient via the first patient line. The peritoneal dialysis fluid exchange system includes a second cassette including a second patient line configured to be connected to the patient and a fluid exchange device that receives the second cassette. The fluid exchange device includes a data exchange interface operable to transfer patient treatment data from the peritoneal dialysis fluid exchange system to the base peritoneal dialysis system.

  • Publication number: 20170043047
Abstract: The invention relates to a volatile composition dispenser. The volatile composition dispenser comprises a sealed reservoir containing a volatile composition, a membrane surrounding at least part of the sealed reservoir, and a rupture mechanism formed of a single piece of plastic located between the membrane and the sealed reservoir. The rupture mechanism comprises a support, and a movable portion attached to the support at a proximal end of the movable portion by at least one connection member. The connection member has a depth less than the depth of the movable portion and/or a width less than the width of the movable portion. One or more rupture elements are located at a distal end of the movable portion, wherein the distal end of the movable portion is movable relative to the support upon activation. Upon activation of the rupture mechanism, the one or more rupture elements are moved into contact with the reservoir such that they puncture the reservoir to release the volatile composition.

  • Publication number: 20160170395
Abstract: Approaches are provided for a case management system where one or more exceptions are detected at an industrial machine. A case is then created which represents the one or more exceptions. Additional exceptions may also be linked to the created case which may occur after the creation of the case. The case is stored in an electronic database. One or more first trigger indications are generated which lead to updates to the case at a first time. The case is then responsively updated with first evidence and a first accompanying interpretation. The first update, trigger indications, evidence, and the accompanying interpretation are then linked in an electronic database to form a first linkage which is interpreted such that the evidence, interpretation, and underlying trigger are examined in the context of each other, and an action may be determined to take in mitigating the issue at the industrial machine.

  • Patent number: 9011114
Abstract: This disclosure relates to medical fluid delivery sets and related systems and methods. In some aspects of the invention, a medical fluid cassette includes a plunger slidably disposed within a recess of a base of the cassette such that a substantially liquid-tight seal is maintained between the plunger and the base as the plunger slides axially within the recess. The plunger and the base cooperate to at least partially define a fluid pump chamber. When the plunger is displaced in a first direction, fluid is forced out of the fluid pump chamber, and when the plunger is displaced in a second direction, fluid is drawn into the fluid pump chamber.

  • Publication number: 20130037142
Abstract: A system including a machine and a cassette that moves fluid from one source to another for use in dialysis. The machine includes at least a first set of pressure imposing valve actuators, said valve actuators being pneumatically operated and substantially adjacently disposed, and a cassette receiving portion. The cassette includes a housing adapted to be removably placed in the cassette receiving portion of the machine. The housing includes at least one inlet port adapted to be fluidly coupled to a fluid source, and at least one outlet port. The housing further includes an inlet manifold and a collection chamber, and at least one fluid pathway fluidly coupled to the two.
