  • Patent number: 11957986
Abstract: There is a need to dynamically determine one or more levels of difficulty for a computer program associated with one or more levels of difficulty for a computer program associated with one or more dynamic difficulty tasks. In one example, embodiments comprise, during a user interaction session with a computer program, receiving a physiological evaluation data object. One or more physiological difficulty levels may be determined based at least in part on the physiological evaluation data object. One or more program control parameter values for one or more program control parameters may be determined based at least in part on the one or more physiological difficulty levels. User interface data for the computer program may be generated to enable rendering of an in-program experience of the computer program as adjusted by the one or more program control parameter values.

  • Publication number: 20240112140
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are disclosed to interface with a storage device storing a file, wherein the file comprises first data associated with an artifact configured to be displayed in a first interface at a first electronic device, the artifact including a first representation state representing a first visual depiction of one or more data objects. In accordance with some embodiments, a method is provided to provide access via the first interface to the one or more data objects. The method comprises acquiring the first data associated with artifact. The method further comprises acquiring an activation of at least part of the artifact, and responsive to acquiring the activation, transmitting a first request to a second electronic device for second data associated with the artifact. The method further comprises acquiring the second data, wherein the second data allows the first visual depiction to be altered to a second visual depiction.

  • Publication number: 20240032726
Abstract: A weighing device (11) is incorporated into an espresso coffee machine (10). The weighing device (11) is located in a drip tray (12) of the espresso coffee machine (10) under a group (13) thereof. The weighing device (11) has a display (not shown) for indicating the weight of a shot as it is being delivered and the elapsed time from the start of delivery. A start extraction button (not shown) on a pressure adjusting handle (24) mounted on the group (13) is connected to the weighing device (11). In use, movement of the pressure adjusting handle (24) initiates delivery of a shot from the group (13), which movement also activates the weighing device (11) in one mode of operation. Thus, a barista can use the weighing device to calibrate the “perfect shot” using the weight and time measurements displayed thereon.

  • Publication number: 20230293212
Abstract: An ultrasonically-vibratable surgical tool for cement removal in revision arthroplasty, comprises an elongate solid shaft. This can be mounted at its proximal end to a source of ultrasonic vibrations, so that the shaft acts as a waveguide for propagation of the ultrasonic vibrations. The shaft has at its distal end an operative head to act on the cement. An intermediate portion of the elongate shaft is provided with at least one row of dimples extending helically along and around that portion of the elongate shaft. Each dimple is separate from each adjacent dimple. The dimples may have a shallow part-spherical profile.

  • Patent number: 11583308
Abstract: Apparatus for generating torsional-mode ultrasonic vibrations, for example in a surgical tool, comprises an ultrasonic transducer that would conventionally produce longitudinal-mode ultrasonic vibrations, with a long, hollow, cylindrical, mode converter mounted coaxially to its distal end. A plurality of holes are formed through the walls of the mode converters. These holes are arranged in multiple parallel helical rows, extending along and around the cylindrical mode converters. Holes within the same row are spaced relatively closely, compared with the spacing between rows. Relationships have been established between the hole diameter (d), the spacing between rows (W), the spacing between holes in the same row (l), the spacing between individual holes in adjacent rows (L), and the overall diameter of the mode converter (D). In a preferred version, the holes through the walls of the second mode converter are tapered inwardly, rather than being cylindrical holes as in the first mode converter.

  • Publication number: 20220169490
Abstract: A beverage dispense system for a countertop having a water inlet including a solenoid valve and a beverage concentrate inlet to which a bag-in-box containing a supply of liquid coffee concentrate is attached. A beverage dispense font is mounted on the countertop. A water conduit connects the water inlet with the dispense font. A separate liquid beverage concentrate conduit connects the beverage concentrate inlet with the beverage dispense font. An electric syrup pump pumps liquid coffee concentrate from the bag-in-box to the end of the dispense font. A control unit controls the separate delivery of water from the mains water inlet and/or liquid coffee concentrate to the end of the beverage dispense font. Where water and liquid coffee concentrate are delivered, they will mix in the beverage receptacle.

  • Publication number: 20210338297
    Abstract: A series of surgical tools (11, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 81) have respective operative heads (16, 26, 36, 46, 56, 66, 76, 86 & 96) mounted adjacent a distal end of an elongate waveguide (12, 13, 14). The operative heads (16, 26, 36, 46, 56, 66, 76, 86 & 96) are used to remove PMMA bone cement (2, 5) from within a hollow bone (1), such as a femur (1), as part of a prosthesis revision operation, such as replacement of an artificial hip joint. Torsional-mode ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted along the waveguide (12, 13, 14) to the respective operative heads (16, 26, 36, 46, 56, 66, 76, 86 & 96), which are applied to the bone cement (2, 5), softening it and facilitating its removal. Elongate radial channels (18, 23, 28, 38) extend across cement-contacting faces of several of the surgical tools (11, 21, 31, 41, 71, 81), acting to focus and transmit the torsional-mode ultrasonic vibrations into adjacent cement (2, 5).

  • Patent number: 10080462
Abstract: A sprayhead for a pour over coffee brewing machine for delivering hot water to coffee grounds held in a brew basket therebelow, has a housing with a water inlet at one end thereof, which is connectable to an intermittent source of hot water. A holding chamber for accumulating a quantity of hot water therein is located within the housing and is connected to the water inlet. A dispensing chamber is located within the housing and below the holding chamber, in use. A bell siphon located in the holding chamber delivers the accumulated quantity of water from the holding chamber to the dispensing chamber, and then to the coffee grounds, once the water level in the holding chamber rises above an open end of a siphon tube.

  • Patent number: 9895019
Abstract: A device for use in the preparation of beverages, for managing the draw-off of water from a source of hot water comprises a chamber having a base, a cylindrical wall mounted on the base and a top section. An inlet and a return outlet are mounted in the base, and both the inlet and the return outlet are connectable to a source of hot water. Three draw-off outlets are also mounted in the base. The return outlet consists of a hollow tube section, which passes through the base to form a stand pipe. In use, hot water is introduced into the chamber through inlet and the chamber is orientated such that return outlet is positioned above the inlet. The inlet flow rate is equal to or greater than the draw-off flow rate, and any excess volume of hot water in the chamber is returnable, to the source of hot water, through the return outlet, thereby creating a constant head of water above the draw-off outlets.
