  • Publication number: 20230097255
Abstract: A shunt-enhanced decompression and pulsation trap (SEDAPT) for a screw compressor assists internal compression (IC), reduces gas pulsation and NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness), and improves off-design efficiency, without using a slide valve and/or a serial pulsation dampener. The SEDAPT includes an inner casing, e.g., an integral part of the compressor chamber, and an outer casing, e.g., surrounding part of the inner casing near the compressor discharge port, forming at least one diffusing chamber with an outflow orifice or nozzle equipped with an ODV (one-direction valve) at the outflow exit and a feedback region that provides a feedback outflow loop between the compressor chamber and the compressor discharge port. The SEDAPT automatically bleeds or compensates cavity pressure to meet different outlet pressures, eliminates or reduces energy waste, gas pulsations and NVH associated with any over-compression and under-compression before the discharge port opens.

  • Patent number: 11610809
Abstract: Amorphous multi-component metallic films can be used to improve the performance of electronic components such as resistors, diodes, and thin film transistors. Interfacial properties of AMMFs are superior to those of crystalline metal films, and therefore electric fields at the interface of an AMMF and an oxide film are more uniform. An AMMF resistor (AMNR) can be constructed as a three-layer structure including an amorphous metal, a tunneling insulator, and a crystalline metal layer. By modifying the order of the materials, the patterns of the electrodes, and the size and number of overlap areas, the I-V performance characteristics of the AMNR are adjusted. A non-coplanar AMNR has a five-layer structure that includes three metal layers separated by metal oxide tunneling insulator layers, wherein an amorphous metal thin film material is used to fabricate the middle electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20220409475
Abstract: The invention relates to an adult choke pleasure enhancement adjustable pressure cuff device. Participants can engage in solo autoerotic asphyxiation (AEA) without accidentally suffocating to death. The adjustable cuff is inflatable and sized to encompass a participant's neck and has a timed safety release function. The participant can apply the device at default setting to fit snugly, but not impede blood flow. The participant can inflate the device to the desired level of pressure that would remain at that setting at participant's discretion. They can control what happens and for how long, as long as the participant is not incapacitated. However, if at any time, the controls/settings are not engaged by the participant, the device would automatically default to zero pressure after a set time. The use of the device therefore allows a participant to safely engage in solo AEA without risking injury or death.

  • Patent number: 11406550
Abstract: An aerosol containment enclosure is used to isolate an air mass immediately surrounding a patient known or suspected to have a disease which may be transmitted through the air. The enclosure cooperates with a patient support apparatus (PSA). In embodiments, a flexible rod supports a substantially aerosol impermeable covering and is connected to the PSA. The enclosure may be semi-rigid and collapsible to a predetermined collapsed shape. The enclosure may be rapidly erected around a patient in an ambulance or other treatment setting. Embodiments of couplers provide compatibility with a wide diversity of sized and shaped PSAs. One coupler is connectable to the PSA with a coupler end exposed along a frame and upwardly extensible toward a PSA surface. A connector extends from the flexible rod and engages with the coupler end. The coupler may be longitudinally or laterally adjustable along the PSA.

The SECAPT automatically compensates cavity pressure to meet different outlet pressures (hence eliminating under-compression and/or over-compression when the discharge port opens), partially recovers potential energy associated with the under-compression (UC), and traps and attenuates gas pulsations and noise before the discharge port opens.
