  • Publication number: 20160290998
Abstract: A spectrofluorimetrically detectable luminescent composition consists essentially of at least one energy transfer acceptor lanthanide(III) complex having an emission spectrum maximum in the range from 300 to 2000 nanometers and a luminescence-enhancing amount of at least one energy transfer donor selected from the group consisting of a fluorophore, a lumiphore, an organic compound, a salt of an organic ion, a metal ion, a metal ion complex, or a combination thereof. Such energy transfer donor enhances the luminescence of at least one energy transfer acceptor lanthanide(III) complex, with the conditions that the emission spectrum of any energy transfer donor differs from that of its energy transfer acceptor lanthanide(III) complex; and such energy transfer donor can be dissolved to form a unitary solution in a solvent having an evaporation rate at least as great as that of water.

  • Publication number: 20160103502
Abstract: Methods and system for generating a first set of selection options for presentation on a display screen of a television. Each first set selection option identifies a sub-set of symbols. The presentation provides a visual representation of spatial relationship between the first set of selection options and a first group of input options available on a physical remote control. A first user selection is received for the first group of input options. In response to receiving the first user selection, a second set of selection options corresponding to the first user selection, is generated for presentation as a visual representation of spatial relationship between the second set of selection options and a second group of input options available on the physical remote control. A second user selection is received for the input options from the second group and is interpreted to identify selection of one of the sub-set of symbols.

  • Patent number: 8656429
Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for displaying and navigating a graphical two-dimensional array of a plurality of available channels on an associated display unit. A two-dimensional array of channel boxes is first generated on an associated display. Input signals are then received corresponding to a respective plurality of available channels. At least one of the received input signals is then parsed to acquire channel identification data indicating at least one channel associated with the parsed signal. Image data associated with the indicated channel is then captured. Thereafter, at least one channel box is populated in the array with the acquired identification data and the captured image data.

  • Patent number: 6757242
Abstract: A system, method and computer program to detect and recover from a communications failure in a computer network. The computer network has several nodes which include processor-based systems, input/output controllers and network controllers. Each node has a cluster adapter connected to multiple port switches through communications links. Data is transmitted through among the nodes through the communications links in the form of packets. A fabric manager module will monitor the network and detect a link failure. Upon the detection of a link failure between two switches a spanning tree partitioning module will partition the network into two trees at the point of the link failure. Thereafter, a link and switch identification module will identify a link between the two trees that can replace the failed link and has the least impact on the network. A routing table calculation algorithm module will calculate a new routing and distance table based on the identified link.
