  • Publication number: 20130252454
Abstract: A medical-engineering coupling mechanism for connecting two medical instruments having a coupling plug and a coupling socket for inserting the coupling plug, so that the coupling socket and the coupling plug can be secured to one another by at least one spring-loaded notching connection. To produce a medical-engineering coupling mechanism that is easy to manipulate and ensures a secure notching connection of the components that are to be connected to one another, it is proposed with the invention that the notching connection consists of at least two notching hooks that are positioned on one of the components and are in active engagement with at least one spring element configured as a spring washer, and at least one notching recess positioned on the other component for insertion of the at least two notching hooks.

  • Publication number: 20130227476
Abstract: Provided herein are a method, apparatus and computer program product for arranging and re-arranging information presented on a display. In particular, methods may include providing for display of a plurality of tiles, each in a respective first location; receiving an input proximate a first point on a display; and moving at least one of the plurality of tiles toward the first point in response to receiving the input proximate the first point. The tiles may include representations of applications, data, or information. The plurality of tiles may include tiles related to a first group and tiles related to a second group, where moving at least one of the plurality of tiles toward the first point may include moving the tiles related to the first group toward the first point while the tiles related to the second group remain in their respective first locations.

  • Publication number: 20130158527
Abstract: A medical instrument includes a shaft which is connected at the proximal end to a handle, and it also includes an insert which is guided along the shaft and which is connected at the proximal end to a movable grip part of the handle. At its distal end, the insert has a tool which can be actuated by pivoting of the grip part. A lock is also provided which can be brought into locking engagement with the movable grip part. To cancel the lock function, a detent is provided which can be brought between lock and movable grip part, such that the lock function can be cancelled by the detent.

  • Patent number: 8372091
Abstract: A device (10) is used for moving a thread of a surgical sewing instrument (60). The device comprises a clamp (18) for detachably clipping said device (10) on the surgical sewing instrument (60). The device has an arm (24) having a first end connected to said clamp (18). A freely rotatable roller (50) being arranged at a second end of said arm (24), said roller (50) resting on the thread of the surgical instrument (60) having clipped on the device (10).

  • Patent number: 8286970
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for affixing to cylindrical components of medical instruments, for instance an instrumental shaft, having at least one intake part that can be mounted on the cylindrical component and can be affixed to the cylindrical component, wherein a sleeve-shaped collet chuck that essentially coaxially surrounds the cylindrical component is positioned in the intake part and whose inner diameter can be displaced between a span that can slide along the cylindrical component and a span that is in form-locking contiguity on the cylindrical component. To allow for a stationary clamping on the one hand and ensure a non-harmful clamping of the cylindrical component on the other hand, it is proposed with the invention that the inner diameter of the collet chuck can be displaced by a slider that can slide essentially diagonally to the cylindrical component and is mounted so that it can slide in the housing of the intake part.

  • Publication number: 20120253391
Abstract: An instrument kit serves for knotless fitting of a tissue to a bone. A pin-shaped anchor element has a suture connected to it. The suture has a loop portion formed into an annular body. An internal diameter of said annular body is chosen in that the pin-shaped anchor element can be moved along its longitudinal axis through said annular body. A length of a section of the suture between the anchor element and the annular body is chosen in that after said anchor element has moved through said annular body, a resulting new loop lies circumferentially and tightly around a strand-shaped tissue section to be fixed at said bone.

  • Publication number: 20120232558
Abstract: A medical puncturing serves for penetrating into a bone or a cartilage. It has a shaft and a tool carrier connected with its proximal end to a distal end of the shaft. The tool carrier has a puncturing tool being a punch or a multi-fracture chisel. The tool carrier is connected at its proximal end via a freely articulated joint to the distal end of said shaft. A stop limits a laterally pivoting movement of said tool carrier to a maximum angle of 45°.

  • Patent number: 7871218
Abstract: A coupling mechanism, in particular for medical instruments, having a coupler plug and a coupler socket for inserting the coupler plug, where the coupler socket and coupler plug can be secured to one another by at least one spring-loaded catch connection, where the catch connection can be actuated by a safety mechanism and can be released by the coupler plug inserted into the coupler socket. To create a coupling mechanism that is simple to operate and ensures secure catching connection of the components and that are to be connected with one another, the safety mechanism should be configured as a spring-loaded catch element positioned in the coupler socket.
