Patent number: 6908329Abstract: In a connector, a first housing is provided with a projection, and a second housing is provided with a retainer engaged with the projection. An engagement detector is held in the second housing so as to slidable between a first position and a second position. The retainer retains the engagement detector at the first position such that the engagement detector is slidable to the second position only when the projection and the retainer are completely engaged with each other at a complete engagement position. The engagement detector locks the retainer at the complete engagement position when the engagement detector is placed in the second position.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2002Date of Patent: June 21, 2005Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Seiji Kozono, Toshinori Yamamoto

Patent number: 6048231Abstract: A connection terminal of a bulb socket plug has at one end thereof a bulb contact portion to which a bulb can be detachably connected, and also has at the other end thereof a connector contact portion to which a connector can be detachably connected. The bulb contact portion includes two side walls, and a central wall interconnecting the two side walls, and a contact portion for connection to a wedge portion of the bulb extends from at least one of the two opposed side walls. A stopper wall is bent relative to the side wall, and extends from a suitable portion of the side wall, and closes part of a space formed at a back side of the contact portion at a bulb insertion opening side. Tilt prevention inserts for preventing the tilting of the side walls are inserted respectively into spaces formed respectively at inner sides of the two side walls.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1998Date of Patent: April 11, 2000Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Makoto Yamanashi, Seiji Kozono

Patent number: 5816856Abstract: A spacer for an electrical connector which detects the presence of electrical terminals inserted into terminal accommodating chambers in the connector and which locks the terminals in the chambers only when the terminals are fully inserted. The spacer preferably has a lock arm for each chamber. Each lock arm has a stop which holds the spacer in a pre-set position by abutting against the chamber. As the terminal is inserted into the chamber, the terminal contacts the lock arm and deflects it to a position where the stop no longer engages the chamber. The spacer can only be moved to a full-lock position when all terminals are completely inserted into the chambers. Each lock arm preferably includes a terminal-detecting projection which rides along a surface of the terminal until it reaches an engagement aperture in the surface of the terminal. The projection is then securely received by the engagement aperture as the lock arm returns to an at rest position.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1997Date of Patent: October 6, 1998Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Shashidhar M.
